It's close to the office, so we visit the place frequently for lunch. The food is tasty, even the lunch menu is good, although not so big portion. But at least we do not suffer from food coma in the office :) The attitude of the staff is not so good.Service fee is not included in the bill, but the... More

Lovely restaurant! We went here as a group of 4 and ordered Hungarian dishes. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. It was a very relaxed dining experience. We must have tried all the cocktails on the menu! Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food is nice - nothing amazing but OK cafe food - a little on the expensive side. The service is good with the staff being very attentive. My other gripe was that I ordered fries with my sandwich which was an extra cost (820HUF), and seriously, there were so few that I dont know why they bothered. I know... More

This cafe was just outside our apartment and offered a 5.00 Euro breakfast package which we used twice. The food was okay .

Had several lunches the last few weeks at the café Vian. They were all very very good. They know how to cook and serve. They have a daily menu plus an extensive regular menu. Give it a try. We did and we keep coming back.

This excellent restaurant was only a stone's throw from our hotel. Unfortunately discovered it only on the last day. Would have gone oftener if we had found it out earlier. Very good tasty and healthy food. Reasonable prices. Decent service

At Cafe Vian you can eat real Hungarian dishes in a nice atmosphere. The meals are tasty but kind of basic. Especially when you take the price into account; slightly higher than most of the basic Hungarian restaurants in Budapest, probably because it is in the middle of THE touristy area in Pest. On the other hand they have a... More

Pitty that the place forgets how to service loyal locals... Waiter didn't pay attention to a request on a Friday night - when music is already noisy enough - and when a group of 10-12 foreigner drunk guys behaved like real monkeys... This place tolerates bad behaviour from cheap-tourists... No wonder, since big competition for tourists in Gozsdu Courtyard. If... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
