Cafeteria style food, passable for retirement homes - had better meals on airplanes. Avoid this place at all costs, don't believe the hype.

Lovely ambience, old world feel. Waiters attentive and dressed smartly with their crisp white aprons. However disappointed with the menu choices . Food quality was fine but by Australian restaurant standards pretty basic and food we could easily prepare at home. We indulged in dessert which was a terrific filled pancake- yummy- but even though menu did say " chocolate... More

Our originally planned dinner place changed when it was full. We walked into Cafe Kör by chance. The place was almost full, but we were given a table in the corner next to the front door. The place was too packed of tables and it was very noisy. The front door didn't stay closed when people walked through so I... More

Very good Hungarian food; polite and professional service; call them to book a table just in case; located in the very central part of the city.

This restaurant offers traditional Hungarian fare on a cash only basis which is always a worry !! The service and staff were very good however, in my opinion, let down by the food offer. I had the weinerschnitzel which was enormous but not piping hot and came with a side of saute potatoes which were obviously yesterdays refried. My buddy... More

We loved the traditional Goulash here. Great wine selections and a warm atmosphere that makes the food it's centerpiece.

Just next to StStephan Basilica this cafe/restaurant has style and very good service. The food is typical high-end austro-hungarian. Very similar to the environment of a Viennese restaurant. Food is outstanding and quickly delivered.

Better in memory though. However Service good and ambience pleasant. Wait for the strawberry or cherry soup though. That is really their forte.

Before you arrive be aware, no credit cards other than American Express! That is very important and they really should have told us upfront! Overall, nice environment, cozy. We arrived without reservation and they offered a little table upstairs alone next to sound control. At the beginning looks a little awkward but at the end we had a very nice... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
