I can picture my grandparents dining here. (Although my grandparents are from Romania, not Budapest - But you get the point.) Off the beaten path (you would think this would be in the Jewish Quarter) - but so worth the trek. Or cab ride. This is my 2nd time in Budapest, and I know I'll dine here every visit (and... More

Thoroughly enjoyed dining here with my wife on 2 occasions.Excellent & extensive menu & wine list, & very good value for a capital city , certainly compared to Surrey ! Although full on both nights & mostly locals ( would advise booking ), the service was both friendly & at the right pace.We found it easy to find, a short... More

Came here on our last night in Budapest. It was busy for a week day but the service was still excellent. Our waiter had good knowledge of the wine list and recommended a fantastic wine. We had a two course meal each which was probably the best we've had in Budapest. As it was our our last night we asked... More

I was very much looking forward to visiting this restaurant having looked at the reviews, including some of the sightseeing guides. Booked in advance, the place was packed with locals on a Friday night which seemed to be a good sign... however the waiters were busy ...so no bread was offered with goose liver consommé ending up too heavy. The... More

Very easy to book in advance of our trip, really lovely staff in the restaurant and the food was amazing. With some great advice by our waitress we have some delicious Hungarian classic food. Best meal we had in Budapest! Great food, wine, accordion playing. Worth finding as its a little way out.

It's surprising that quiet restaurant can offer both Hungarian, Jewish and international food. For the uninitiated it's best to take a taxi to find the place. I had a goose liver soup as starter, continued with a steak with Hungarian flavour and finished with a Kecskeméti pancake. A Villány red wine accompanied the meal.
