The food here is outstanding albeit moderate decor. Location is probably a bit off but if you are into good food, I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent value for money.

We already knew that Csalogany26 is an incredible restaurant. We popped in for a quick lunch a few days ago and the 3 course menu was delicious, and a very good price for value (2500HUF = £7). We were so satisfied we booked a dinner there again today. We love that you can choose an 8 course menu or an... More
I do not have any thing negative to say about this restaurant! I'm sure it will get a well deserved Michelin star soon as it is better food than some 1/2 star restaurants in the UK. Service was faultless, the staff were accommodating and explained things well, including telling us about all the wine which although was sometimes a bit... More
We returned to this venue after a few years, It was a successful early bird in the emerging Budapest fine dining scene. The ambience is very sterile, rather styleless. The menu is rather narrow. The meals were ok, but not making deep imprints. Strength is the creative use of local ingredients, and the ambition to make good use of non-prime... More
At the beginning I was a bit unsure as their website was under a reconstruction and no information about this place was provided. I trusted however a recommendation of my foodie friends who visited this restaurant a year ago and I hoped that it would be a similar great experience as they had. And it was truly wonderful! The services... More
Hidden away in an unassuming building we wouldn't have been here if it weren't for the guidebook. Food was fantastic. Matching wines were very well chosen. Staff very attentive. Great value for money (8course tasting menu with wine at this standard could cost a lot more).
Although well away from the centre of the city this restaurant is a real find and well worth trying. There is a la carte menu, which in the evening is an unnecessarily complicated "set" menu with the option of accompanying wines, ...but don't be daunted you can pick and choose whatever you like, and at lunchtime there is a very... Good Hungarian food for foreigners. Why? The only Hungarian person in the full restaurant explained this - Hungarians expect reasonably large portions for affordable prices. Portions here are small and prices not affordable. Yet the place is full. So if you do not mind English being spoken all around you in a Hungarian restaurant, you will have a lovely authentic... More
Small dining area, encouraged to take one of three set menus, food outstanding, excellent service. We chose different courses but all thoroughly enjoyed the food & wine. I don't think it will be easy to have this fine dining experience again for such good value.
Very nice little place with great five course set menu. Excellent choice of wine to all the courses. Service was very attentive and the whole dinner was very good put together. Wines were well presented. Only thing lacking was perhaps a bit more personal touch from the sommelier and waiters, they could have told us a bit more about their... More
