This place has a great reputation in the city, we went there following the recommendation of locals. The first thing that will strike you is the bad service they give to tourists. Locals are greeted warmly and welcomed with a small lemonade, you get nothing....More

We just hit town and we needed to get something for dinner fast before we took our sightseeing cruise on the Danube. We came to Hummusbar close to the pedestrian street and stopped to look at the menu, and we are glad we did. The...More

It sounds simple and it is simple: Hummus is what they do. But the variations of dishes you can choose is quite intriguing - you actually have to think before ordering as there are so many good things on the hummus menu. The bread to...More

We passed hummus bar by chance and fell in love with it so much we ended up coming back a second time although we were only in Budapest for 4 days. I would recommend to get a main dish with hummus as one of the...More

Tasty, quick and cheap food! The hummus plate with mince meat is my favourite and my partner loves the main meal with shawarma chicken, fries and hummus. Their pitas are also delicious and great for a quick bite on the run. Definitely grab one of...More

I was with my four friends on hummusbar to have a quick meal before we continued our sightseeing. We went in, ordered one by one and the service was terrible. The girl behind the disk was shaking her head, turning her eyes and was really...More

The food was fine, but the service was absolutely terrible. They had a bad attitude towards us from the moment we walked in. Not even a smile.

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube,
with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The
Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica
stand out as two of the finest examples of
architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for
more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval
city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while
the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention

We believe in curiosity and the pursuit of new experiences, a journey that leads to far lands and distant times. Since the beginning of time, food has been the most vital necessity for survival and besides that, a main source of joy. This is one of the few things that never change. Food is the oldest venue which brings worlds together. The first hummusbar was opened in 2005, and since then, our restaurants have become a part of the city with several locations. We are present in the most desirable spots of the urban scene with a boutique flavour to our food and our sites. Our food is unique by its simplicity. We use quality ingredients, our dishes are homemade, fresh and nutritious, based on ancient recipes. We keep our atmosphere humble and welcoming. Everyday, we work to remind our guests how simple a thing can be to enjoy life. We are a growing chain in Budapest, Hungary with our eye on the european market.
