I have been to this cake shop many times, first time around 25 years ago with Parents as a child :) The desserts are wonderfully crafted and very tasty. A must if you visiting Eger and fancy a sweet treat and a good coffee.

While strolling through the Dobo Square and beyond in Eger, Hungary we spied quite a few people with the same type of wrapped boxes, carried by strings. Being a Sunday with not many shops open and Dobo Square covering a small area it seemed odd that so many people had this commonality. in search of a good cup of espresso,... More

By far the best dessert place in Eger and quite possibly one of best in Hungary. If you venture all the way out to Eger, Hungary, you are in for a scrumptious treat. Marjan is a cake and coffee house that also serves ice cream. We purchased two cakes and two coffees for 1350 HUF (4.80 USD). The same desserts... More

It is a famous place, when you ask the locals most of them will suggest to visit. To be very honest we expected a litle bit more, however the selection is plenty, and if there are not too many people they also manage to serve,.

Walked in to this pastry shop for one reason, to taste Hungary's birthday cake or sugarfree birthday cake. This is a cake which is introduced every year on 20th August (Hungary's national day) since 2007, and then can be bought in many pastry shops countrywide for a year. So I entered the place and found not only the cakes of... More

This review is from the cafeteria part of the restaurant. The locals know this place very well, and visit it frequently to eat cakes, ice cream and to take home cakes. You would be hard pressed to find a better selection, quality and priced cake. We know this place and visit it several times when we are in Eger. If... More

All the sweets are nice and delicious, but the Eckler is an overall experience, I've been in several confectionary shops in Hungary and Budapest, only some of them sell it, but absolutely not in this quality Every time I walk in front of this place, I have to go in to get some or to tae away min. 2 pieces... There is an amasing choice of exceptionally looking cakes available in this confectionary. We tried several of them and unfortunately were disappointed by the taste. Would only recommend the ice cream which also is offered in wide variety..
