With COVID-19 lurking around, the waiter (in her 50-60th) has some coughing, which makes the atmosphere worrisome.
I visited this lovely restaurant last autumn. I shared appetizers (typical Estonian options with thin and crunchy slices of black bread) and I had a delicious salmon fillet as main dish. For dessert, an awesome chocolate cake with "kama", again typical Estonian ingredient. I loved...the cozy atmosphere, as it makes you feel in a traditional Estonian home. Recommended!More
Little Estonian restaurant with a vintage decoration which remains an old Estonian cottage. The menu is strictly Estonian typical soaps and roasts. It was like travelling back on time. Definitely need to taste!
We were recommended to this restaurant by some friends, and we're pleased that we found it! The restaurant is in a cellar, so there are some steep stairs, but it is well worth making the effort. The food was all local produce, and was so...good that we went back a second night! The menu is relatively small, but everything is cooked really well. I particularly enjoyed the beer-flavoured elk & deer stew on the first night, and the honey-flavoured chicken on the second night. On both nights, we shared the Selection of Snacks from Grandmother's Pantry for a Starter. When I am next in Tallinn, I will definitrely return!More
Had a lunch after a walk in the Old Town. Really nice place - simple and tasty food, great atmoshphere and service.
Hidden gem! Unassuming entry leads to great underground experience. Cozy restaurant. Great food and great service. All around great experience!
We were recommended this restaurant by friends and we were not disappointed! Lovely, cosy restaurant with fine food, wine and service. What more could one ask for? Very reasonable prices too.
I was served by a very friendly lady who spoke very good English. The place is small and cosy and the food was excellent. You could easily miss it when walking along the street because the entrance is in a little alcove with just a...small sign outside on the footpath. I was there in January so it may be more obvious in Summer. Definitely worth a visit.More
What a lovely place ! The name tells it all , Vanaema juures , Grandma’s place ❤️ You feel immediately welcomed when greeted by a nice lady by the door taking you to your table . We ordered three appetizers, the blood sausage , liver...pate and grandmas choice of appetizers. Each dish was tasty , cooked with love and really brought back a lot of childhood memories . Will be back :)More
