Lovely friendly place with fantastic food. A little hard to find but worth the search! If you see a veg called 'salsify' definitely go for it because it's amazing.

I suggest you go there in summer as then they extend also into the garden, which is one of the most beautiful ones in the Old Town. Good food in a perfect setting, what else can you desire if you have good company to take with you? This restaurant takes their business seriously (by putting their heart into it) and... More

We were looking for a restaurant with typically Estonian food. Independently two persons recommended Leib, so we reserved a table for the evening. The name means "'Bread', restaurant and garden". Two people, one chef and one sommelier started it as their dream, both women! We would tend to agree with them! It is picturesquely located next to the city wall,... More

We ended up in this restaurant more or less by a coincident. But from the reviews, we had got expectation that it should be a nice experience -and good it was! When I called to make the reservation I was met by a very friendly waitress who spoke perfect English. When we an hour later came to the restaurant we... More

Small, comfortable and inviting restaurant very well hidden on the outskirts of Old Town. We had quite a good late lunch on Saturday afternoon with our party of 8. All dishes were very nicely presented, most were innovative and the combinations of components were very well thought. Most of the dishes were excellent, but then 1 out of 5 different... More

The food here was absolutely delicious. The bread was fantastic! Definitely worth the price and worth booking in advance as it gets so busy.

Everything we had was delicious and locally sourced. Try the homemade liqueurs before and after your meal, particularly the cherry cardamom flavor and the lingonberry.

We ate at Leib on our first evening in Tallinn and it set a high benchmark. The home made bread was superb (as it should be given the name of the restaurant!)and all the courses that followed were tasty, well-cooked and well-presented. Service was friendly too. Recommended.

Came by for lunch last week. I ordered the beef tartare for my starter, the beef shank for my main and the dried egg yolk for my dessert. Everything was so good. The beef tartare was great, the beef shank was even more wonderful and the dried egg yolk was a pleasant surprise. I definitely recommend this place.

Thank Cat L

Leib is run by two professional foodies - a chef and a sommelier. Having our own restaurant is a dream come true for both of us. Leib means black bread in Estonian and we have chosen it to be our name for a reason! Good old local black bread - fresh, warm, simple, and honest - it's what we, Estonians, grow up with and what we dream about when away. It's what we are, really. Good bread is always made with soul. We are passionate about sharing goodies from our homeland. We work with local farmers and fishermen to create delicious yet simple dishes. Since most of our ingredients are local, the menu is always seasonal. Less is more- therefore our menu is compact and constantly changing. Hand-made bread, coupled with foods made from natural, local ingredients is a true gastronomic delight. Leib - soulful casual dining!
