About
Our cosy yet chic Dome Fish Restaurant has established its reputation with delicious fish cuisine. The fish we serve here is delivered mostly by small local fisheries and even fishermen themselves. Thus, once a week there's a special delivery from Pāvilosta – a small fishing town on the western coast some 200 km from Riga. In addition to the fish dishes, the menu at Dome offers a selection of fine meat and vegetable dishes that are lovingly and imaginatively prepared by our chef Kristaps Silis who was trained at the world’s most famous restaurant “NOMA” in Copenhagen, as well as with the Tom Aikens restaurant in London. One of the secrets to a delicious and healthy meal is the fact that most

I really enjoyed the time spent there. Wide selection of food and drinks, a fantastic Dj, and excellent service. A night to remember!

Went there to celebrate my birthday with group of friends. Tried most of the positions available (post-covid times, so menu was quite short) and not a single one was weak or underwhelming. "That was delicious even for me, non-fish lover" - said one of my...friends. Great experience and lovely, proficient service.More

March 4, 2020: Enticed by some write-ups about DOME being the go-to place for fish dishes in Riga, we had to check it out. The menu was solidly “FishProud” and it was hard to make a specific choice. Hence, we opted for the Degustation Menu...(Euro55/pax) which consisted of a complimentary amuse-bouche (delish! to the eye and palate), 4 fish mains and dessert. Every fish dish (mackerel, catfish, halibut, corbina) was perfectly executed – moist, milky flaky and flavored exquisitely. The server, Eddi, was knowledgeable and described each dish with precision. It helped us appreciate the nuanced flavors attending a particular fish. We decided not to do a wine pairing and opted for prosecco, Chablis and an Austrian white. It well beautifully with the meal. The dessert – onion bacon flavored gelato- was a brave move by the chef but I think I would have preferred a citrus-y gelato to cleanse the palate. Bravo! though to the white chocolate covered sorbet popsicle decked with nitrogen frozen crispy ants. It was creative, bold and delicious! Overall, it was a delicious, freshest of freshest fish and ingredients , bold and adventurous culinary experience. Dome Fish Restaurant rocks in Riga!More

It was a meeting with the friends. Democratic environment, not too spacious but elegant place of tasty fish and seafood. There are austrian white wines in menu. I ordered fish soup and scallops. Everything was tasty. I like modern touch of cooking. Chefs compliments, selfbaked...bread and special creamy butter were very good as well.Part of Relais & Chateaux hotel.More

The space has beautiful furniture which fits with the decorations and gives an overall feeling of a seafood restaurant in a port city. The service was excellent; very varied wine options, but only one vegetarian option. The deserts were incredible! both the presentations, as well...as the taste. it's worth trying it!More

Dome is a small gourmet level fish restaurant, close to the Dome cathedral in Riga. Their service is professional and discreet and the whole ambiance is preparing the guest to enjoy especially delicious meal. The menu offers plenty of alternatives for starters and main courses....Due to the cold February weather we opted for hot fish soup for starter and sea bass as well as monk fish for main courses. Maybe the weather had something to do woth it, but the fish soup was one of the best we ever had. It was tasty and adequately spicy and contained nice pieces of fish and shellfish. Excellent starter for the occasion. Also the main courses were well prepared and tasty and portions were served nicely decorated from well warmed up plates. Specially the lobster sauce, which was served with the sea bass, was excellent. As dessert we chose apple tart with various additives and this was really fresh chrispy and a perfect way to finish the meal. Dome was a really pleasant experience and worth recommendation.More

First of all, i must start off by saying that this review is based solely on the service and not the food as we left after 15 minutes upon arrival. I also seldom take the time to write bad reviews.. We had booked a table...on Valentine's day. When we arrived there were people in the line both in front of us and behind us. Everyone was seated before us, even the people who came after us. The blonde waitress did not even acknowledge us. When i finally told the waitress/person hanging the coats that we had a reservation did they reluctantly and unenthusiastically seated us. We were completely ignored the entire time. As a dark skinned person born and living in Sweden, and having traveled to many countries around the world, this is the first time i ever experienced anything similiar to racism in a restaurant or a so called business. When we told the waitress we were leaving because we didn't feel welcomed, she just looked at us in disgust and did not say a word. For EU country and in the year 2020 this is completely unacceptable. I read another review from a dark skinned woman who also felt that she was treated unfairly on the same day we were there. She also mentioned another couple leaving before main course (not us, as we were there earlier). Shame on you and i don't care how great the food is, the level of hostility and unfriendliness at this place makes me think if the owners and managers are aware of this. Or maybe they dont care.More

I like this cosy place that is suitable for business lunches and romantic dinners. Snacks always is the tastiest food there are offered, but fish also is very good every time. Highly recommend for business meetings or dating.

Horrible service and bad food. We experienced extreme levels of racism. It was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. I have never cried while eating at a restaurant before because of the staff until I ate here. We saw...a couple leave the restaurant before they were served their main meal and I really really wish we just did the same and walked out, but it was Valentine’s Day and I was so worried we wouldn’t be able to get dinner anywhere else last minute. We went here for their Valentines Day Dinner Special, which was €50 per person and had a set menu of 5-courses that we couldn’t change. We both came to this restaurant with high hopes and were excited to spend Valentine’s Day together in a new city. When we arrived to the restaurant, we immediately told the blonde female waiter we had a reservation and she marked a piece of paper and walked away from us towards the back of the restaurant. We assumed she was just going to check the back to see where to seat us, so we just waited to be seated. Soon more and more couples come in. There was another female waiter with short light brown hair that spoke Latvian to the couples that came after us, helped them take off their coats, and seated all of them at their tables (even though they came after us and we also had a reservation). We still couldn’t find the blonde waiter (who originally took our names) so we asked this brown hair waiter if we can be seated or if she like can we just sit down anywhere. She ignored us, so we just assumed maybe she didn’t speak English (which we found out later was not the case). So we waited and waited to be seated and they kept seating people who came after us that spoke Latvian. Eventually the blonde female waiter sat us. We then weren’t served bread and weren’t offered drinks at all until everyone else was on their 1st course of food. We kept asking the blonde waiter if we can have bread and she gave me a mean look and ignored us. We had been at the restaurant for 30 mins and some couples were on their 2nd course. Soon brand new groups of couples arrived and to the restaurant and the other waiters immediately rushed to them and spoke Latvian to them and quickly got them wine and bread. Soon these couples who came 30 minutes after us got their 1st course meal and we hadn’t even got anything yet. The blonde waiter was nowhere to be found and the other waiters wouldn’t help us. Every table that spoke Latvian was allowed to eat. When we did eventually see the blonde waiter we explained that the only reason we want bread is because we see everyone else (even people that came after us have it) and she rudely said “no they don’t” even though the clearly did. And that’s when I started crying. From then on I didn’t speak to our waiter or anyone else at the restaurant because I knew it didn’t matter. We were obviously being treated differently and nothing we said mattered. It seemed like they didn’t like tourists and they didn’t like speaking English towards us. We trusted our Valentine’s Day with them and ruined our night. Ultimately we weren’t allowed to eat until everyone was done with their food. We got our last course at 23:20, nearly 3 hours after we arrived at 20:30. As a black women from the USA, I am not a common sight or even a common tourist in Riga and it was clear that they didn’t even care about me since it will probably not impact their regular stream of customers but I wanted to write this review anyways because as a tourist I care about places that are welcoming towards others and I would want to know about an awful experience like this. The next day I was hesitant to leave my hotel because I didn’t wanted to be treated the same way again but I’m glad I did. Every other place in Riga was welcoming and extremely nice. In fact 2 of our favorite restaurants we went to: Petergalis and Riits had the best customer service and were extremely welcoming. In regards to the food, the fish was overcooked and they were some course that we simply couldn’t finish because it tasted so bad, but maybe their Valentine’s Menu is different from their main menu (which has good reviews). Even if this restaurant’s regular food is actually good, it isn’t worth it to us to come again or recommend because of the discrimination and rude staff.More
