This is just to confirm that this is the best place to buy certain types of local pastry in Riga. Examples are "vecriga" and "орешки со сгущенкой". Try ,"balta dāma" - OMG! Very friendly and quiet place. Nice visitors.

I have been to Riga many, many times. Gustavs Adolfs has often been a stop for good meals. The restaurant is not loaded with atmosphere (understatement) but I have always had good food and service. We wandered into this place primarily because it was next to the tram stop. Atmosphere is lacking but the carbonara is, without doubt, the best I have ever eatern

We dined thier twice once fr dinner and another time for lunch . We enjoyed the ambience of the building and the courtyard where we dined .thwe service was friendly and professional and the food was freshly prepared and of a very high quality .

We've been to Riga 5 times and on some occassions have visited Gustavs Adolfs multiple times. The place is very simple and unpretentious but the food is fantastic and the price is a bargain. This place got unique location: there no restaraunts nearby, there is a tram station, heavy traffic road nearby and mass of people passing by this place especially during the summer and autumn.
