Seabreeze Café provided a perfect venue for morning tea after we had completed some of the local walks. As the name suggests, it is right near the harbour with plenty of tables outdoors as well as inside if the weather is inclement. With a warm sunny day and little breeze, we elected to sit outdoors and watch the world go... More

We've been in New Zealand for almost three weeks and I have to say that the Green mussels were the best meal I've had this entire trip. They are served in a cream coconut sauce with chili and coriander, (cilantro in the states). My wife had the eggs benedict and she thought they were by far the best in our... More

Popped in before departing Picton for a late brekkie. Ordered the eggs Benny, which were sublime. Lovely presentation, fresh ingredients, healthy-sized portion of ham, and the hollandaise sauce was out of this world! The crusty bread was a bit hard to cut with a butter knife, though, and we would have been well served with something sharper. The blend of... More

After waiting 10 minutes to be seated, we asked a waitress whether it was ok to sit down at a nearby table. After getting the go ahead, we then waiting a further 10 minutes for the table to be cleared and to be given the menus. We were in draughty spot so we decided to move to the corner, when... More

I guess the fact that my partner and I have had 5 meals here in the last two weeks says a lot. Breakfast and lunch are more casual than dinner but this café has few pretensions and the staff just want you to enjoy the wine and food. Wine by the glass offers a varied selection of Marlborough vineyards, as... More

After arriving on the ferry, we wandered up the street and found this spot with outdoor seating and a nice view. We enjoyed the salmon spread (had to ask for extra bread, because there was so much tasty spread), a glass of wine, and a beer. All for $30. Service was efficient and friendly. When I went inside to pay,... More

I had resolved to not eat at any place in Picton more than once and the Seabreeze made me break this resolve, the food was so good! My first morning in Picton, I wanted a lighter meal, and headed to Seabreeze. In had the corn fritters and bacon and they were delicious! The fritters were well flavored and light with... More

What a meal! And no pasta in sight - just a beautiful, inviting plate of fabulous veggies - makes such a change for a restaurant not to dish out the classics. My husband had a lovey fish dish, whilst friens had the chowder and mussels

Had dinner here on Saturday night (11th Feb). Tables all full so sat in bar area where we ended up eating. Friendly and helpful staff, great barman, remembered our drinks when next round was due. Food was so tasty, we shared Tiger Prawns and Greek salad from appetiser menu. Both were fabulous, the sauce accompanying the prawns so tasty, coconut,... More
