We went to this place because an American colleague recommended it. We sure did not regret it. We shared some plates and had a great peanut butter desert.

Great food, wonderful staff and a really nice space. Highly recommended. We bought out the restaurant for an event during AGU and it could not have been better. The tacos, tostadas and ceviche were amazing. We had specialty cocktails (the mayhuel was super tasty) and...More

Great, unique food and unique atmosphere. This place has a laid back vibe and great food. Try the shishito peppers and all the tacos are great!

We had a lovely dinner here for a celebratory night out, the service was great and the food excellent. Loads of vegetarian options. The cocktails are all tasty. We over ordered - the large plates are large! The salads are really yum

Salsa Verde Cruda with house and chips was outstanding. Taco De Pescado was small, but the flavor very nice. Mole Con Borrego was exquisite. The Cider Churros were also tasty. Service was pleasant. Overall, a very nice experience.

Mexican cuisine is not something any of us are au fait with, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Nice ambience, short and interesting menu, enthusiastic staff who were helpful and very knowledgeable. The food all tastes amazing, with combinations and flavour profiles that were...More

Back after 2 years and the experience was not better. While mezcal remains the drinks focus, the cocktails were so complicated that the mezcal itself had trouble asserting itself. The food is good but the menu is moving in a direction away from its past...More

Located in Shaw, Espita is exploring the food, drinks, and culture of southern Mexico Driven by a quest to surface authentic flavors and techniques, Chef Rob Aikens and Beverage Director Megan Barnes are constantly pushing their teams to research and create. They fuel their creativity with inspiration from their many travels to Mexico, bringing home memories and people they want to honor with their food and drink. We specialize in Oaxacan cuisine seen through the lens of the Mid-Atlantic. You will not find traditional Oaxacan dishes here. Instead you will find authentic Oaxacan flavors and techniques applied to the beautiful seasonal bounty of our region, creating a unique experience only available here. Food is the story of people. Espita is our story about the people we've had the honor to meet on our journeys and how they've impacted us.
