My friend wanted to eat here so we came. The menu was shockingly lacking, and what was on their menu was overpriced. Whoever is cooking green beans in the kitchen doesn't know how to cook fresh green beans. My sandwich was tasty enough but for...a $15 meal it better be. I wouldn't return.More

My only issue with Founding Farmers on Pennsylvania Avenue was the long wait time, but the food made it all worth it. It was so good the first time that we went back the very next day. We had the chicken and waffles breakfast -...amazing! Blueberry pancakes- so delicious! French toast - yum! … and the salmon eggs Benedict - very good. You also get free refills on the lemonade and Arnold Palmer. The only thing we had that we didn’t love were the beignets. While they were light on the inside, there were a bit oily and, I felt, not sweet enough. When we go back to DC we will definitely be visiting Founding Farmers again.More

The food at the Founding Farmers is always top notch as are the handcrafted cocktails. The only drawbacks to this restaurant are their amazingly inadequate restrooms which always have a line and the reservation system in which you always have to wait on arrival with...or without a reservation.More

We chose FF due to the reviews we read and overall it wasn’t bad. We enjoyed the food: Tuna app Wings Chips and Bread Burger Fish of the day Short Rib Prime Rib Where FF fell short was the lack of invested food runners and...waiters/waitresses. Just to get water too extra time. The place appeared pretty well staffed so it does not appear they are hit with a staffing shortage. We ordered a bottle of wine and two glasses came out. The food runner asked if I needed something else for my burger and I requested mustard. I’m still waiting! The time that it took them to clear our table from apps to getting another beverage was below standard. As noted it seemed like the staff just wasn’t invested in helping us enjoy our time at FF. Food - Very good Service - Poor Not sure if we would go back. We even made reservations.More

Farm to table restaurant that knows how to do it right! My son and I had a lovely lunch there - the salmon was perfection, his burger, HUGE and put a big smile on his face. Staff was very accommodating and friendly, and our only...disappointment was not being able to walk in a few nights later for dinner. Popular place ;). Will be back!More

This is my favorite restaurant to visit when in Foggy Bottom. I've never had a bad meal. For breakfast, Blueberry Pancakes, Oatmeal, and Avocado Toast. For dinner, I had chicken and waffles, and pork chop. If you like cornbread, make sure to order it, you...wont be disappointed. Special Shootout to Nicky. He was very attentive. I ordered the Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast. After I mentioned, how much I love the pancakes, he brought me extra blueberries.More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh and excellently seasoned and presented and our outdoor seating made us very comfortable in our current season of “Living in a pandemic.” The servers were all very friendly and...it was very easy to make a reservation online (which I strongly encourage as this place is pretty popular. There was also an indoor parking lot conveniently located directly across the street. We will definitely be back!More

Food was good but not excellent. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. We ordered: - The bbq ribs with the corn and mac & cheese was VERY GOOD. Ribs were moist and fell off the bone perfectly. The corn with the cotija cheese was excellent....- Crazy chicken salad - was good. Could have used a little more dressing or at least dressing on the side. - Turkey avocado sandwich was dry and not too good. Needed something like mayo or something to make it moist. This last item is the reason for a rate of 3 of 5.More

We came upon this restaurant somewhat accidentally. So many places were closed . . .this one came up and sounded interesting. The food is amazing! We went two nights in a row! Fun fact: happy hour is until 5:30 M-F and they have great deals...on drinks! We enjoyed the chicken and waffles, crab mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, and beignets for dessert! Both nights our servers were very attentive with great personalities.More
