Would be difficult to believe anyone could not find something attractive on their extensive menu. A multitude of appetizers and entrees and they would substitute if necessary. Appropriately priced wine. A busy, active place - not a place for a romantic dinner, sit right next to other tables and need to be willing to have interaction.

We were a group of three. We were fortunate to get a booth in a somewhat quieter area of the restaurant. All restaurants in DC are busy and high-volume. The menu offered many selections at reasonable prices. The food was excellent, as was the dessert. We saw many patrons ordering some sort of popcorn as an appetizer. We did not... More

We came here on a saturday morning and it was pretty crowded so we could only sit at the bar. This was nevertheless very nice and we were served quickly. The Food was very tasty and the Service very good. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the design. I would definitely eat here again :)

Have you ever been to a place where every bite of everything is pure perfection? This place is that. I was just eating my Chicken and Waffles with eggs, and picking bite's of hash browns and bacon off my wife's plate, sipping my Manhattan Soda (iced coffee, carbonated soda and a litany of other stuff), and realized I was experiencing... First time there. Unusual menu but everything is fresh and delicious. I had the Chrispy Schrimp and have never seen such large schrimp. Not the least bit greasy. Cornbread is delicious. Everyone one enjoyed their meal and would definitely return.

Went there for lunch. Started with the fig jam with Brie on farmers bread.........deelish. I had the roasted vegetable sandwich, and my son had the burger with goat cheese. Excellent choices. They serve breakfast, which by the way, looked and smelled wonderful! Specialty cocktails, full service bar, two levels, great ambiance

My wife and I visited Founding Farmers for brunch on a Saturday, and it was a fantastic choice. My eggs benedict with crab was unbelievably good and our mimosas were great too. The restaurant was quite busy so make sure you get a reservation ahead of time! Our server was friendly and prompt, and we really enjoyed the restaurant's atmosphere.... More

Great place, standard American cuisine ranging from steaks and burgers to waffles and fried chicken. The food was delicious and portion sizes filled us up. They also have a large drink menu!!

Description
Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
