Having been in South Africa 2 weeks before my visit to DC, it took a while to get used to the price difference when eating out! But Sonoma had been recommended and I was glad I visited. Just round the corner from my hotel, and I felt safe walking alone at night. As I hadn't had a burger in my... More

This place knows how to do fish right! Atmosphere is intimate with candlelit tables, fewer tables. It can get noisy when full given the tile flooring and dining room open to the bar area; ask for a table in the rear to cut down on the volume. Be sure to dine with someone whom you can split a bottle of... More

I stopped in for a late dinner on a recent business trip and was pleasantly surprised. The service was very nice, they had my favourite wine and the pappardelle with exotic mushrooms was delicious, especially with a little extra parmesan. Nice ambiance at the front window.

Pleasant wine bar with an eclectic, small but sufficient menu. Noteworthy is the selection of cheeses and charcuterie, particularly the pate. Other outstanding dishes are the grilled octopus, the squash risotto and the rainbow trout. Several sandwiches, burgers and pizzas are also available. Soups and salads include the usual suspects (quinoa, of course, tomato, mixed greens). An "Italian Happy Hour"... More

The burgers and fries were really good. Bread and butter pickles and a thousand island type spread with homemade buns and grilled meat. Excellent! The fries were perfectly fried and tossed with Parmesan cheese the only reason for the 4 rating is the burgers weren't cooked right the first time. Kind of bloody and ordered med. well.

We walked in for a 1:00pm lunch. The restaurant was not busy, and yet it took 15 minutes for anyone to even approach us. Service continued to be poor throughout the meal. The food itself was entirely disappointing. My grilled cheese sandwich took forever to arrive and was cold. The tomato soup was flavorful, but lukewarm. I did like the... More

We had dinner at this restaurant, which was near our hotel. The setting is high-end casual, with tables alongside a wood bar. Our waiter was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu offerings, although he was also a bit harried ... seemed as if he had one or two more tables than he could comfortably accommodate. No worries for us,... More

This was my second visit. They have a new chef. The food was outstanding. We all enjoyed our choices. I had the halibut over pasta which was excellent. Service was great. This is a good place to go if you want to converse without having to shout over the noise or load music.

We walked in on a busy weeknight without reservations at about 8:30, not expecting to have a chance of being seated, but the greater asked us for 2 minutes to assess the situation and found us a table for 3. Despite the crowd, the sound level was such that a normal conversation was easy without leaning into the middle of... More
