Reviewed yesterday NEW

Mandu was recommended by a colleague, and we tried the original on 18th street. Smaller menu than the newer one on K street (according to our super helpful waiter), but that didn't stop us from enjoying. Great dumplings, great drinks, but the Dolsot Bibim Bap was spectacular. Have been looking for a great Korean place in DC and really love... More

If you like Korean food, in particular Galbi, then this is the place to go. We will definitely go back next time we are in DC.

When I lived in Washington, DC, Mandu was a neighborhood favorite. I no longer live in DC but traveled there for business in January 2017 and met a friend for dinner at Mandu. I was pleased to see that the restaurant is still delivering great Korean food at a reasonable price. My friend and I were seated upstairs. The dining... More

Korean food done right. Had the short ribs which were tasty. I'll go back for these alone. The custard sounds crazy but is quite good with the crunchy potato and other bits added. Loves the soujitinis. Aloe ok but the yoghurt though crazy idea was quite fun.

We always try to eat at Mandu when in D.C. It's an easy walk from Dupont Circle. We love the food--dumplings, soups, noodles, and other wonderful dishes.

It was good but not nearly as flavorful as expected. If you are nervous about trying Korean food this is a good start, but if you want legit Korean food, I'd try somewhere else

We had dinner here recently. I was underwhelmed. The menu offers basic choices and food quality is very basic level. Service was low quality. For prices, there are many other good options nearby.

It's tempting to write: Bandon't. What a sin to have bland Asian food considering the vast variety of spices available. We started with the named appetizer, Bandu - steamed dumplings. Neither the dumplings or the sauce had any spice or much flavor. My partner got a beef and rice dish and I got the beef with homemade noodle bowl. The... More

I haven't been in a while, so we went here for dinner when coming home late one evening. Menu still the same with basic food options. The Korean rice bowl options are very basic food and really not worth the fuss or price. Service wasn't very good either-- younger waiter who didn't pay attention and we finally got someone else...
