We enjoyed dinner here and quickly realized we ordered too much food. We knew it was "family style" but still ordered too much. Four of us ordered the Cold Antipasto Appetizer and two entrees. There was way too much food! The Antipasto was Awesome and HUGE. There was a variety of selections and it could easily have served as an... More

The food is not gourmet, but quite good and ample. The same goes for the drinks. They have a great happy hour with a good frozen cosmo. We entertained 10-12 adults to cocktails, dinner with wine and after dinner drinks for under $600. Everything is family style. This is great place to take a group of children. Just the right... Went to Carmine's with a group of 20 people, we reserved in advance so we couldn't sit together, we had to make 2 reservations of 10 each even though the place wasn't full, but I can understand why they don't take such a large reservation. Our waiter was Sean and he was great, he always paid attention to what was... More

What a treat this was! We had a recommendation to eat at Carmines and decided it would be our stop for a late lunch. From the second we arrived we felt like family. David, the maitre d', was friendly and charming, showing us to a wonderful table by the window and telling Josh, our server, to take good care of... More

This restaurant is totally unsuitable for party of 2. As they serve family style, you are forced to order the same dish, which is enough for 4 people anyway, or pay extortionate amounts for 2 dishes which would serve 8. Nice selection of bread is complimentary, but totally unnecessary with main portion sizes. We chose Lasagne, which had a layer... More

We were so glad to see that both the service and food were just as yummy in dc as it has been in NYC. We love going there when we are absolutley famished and after a day of walking to all the tourist spots ending it at Carmine's was the perfect way to go!!

We are at a big round table. Meals are to be shared with 3-4 family style. Great Italian food. We enjoyed the staff and atmosphere. Great place.

We had dinner at Carmine's in Washington D.C. earlier this week. We notified our waiter that our son has a severe nut allergy and cannot breath if his food even comes into contact with nuts. The waiter brought out cannolis for dessert that he told me were safe for my son to consume. I specifically reiterated how dangerous it was... More

We had a party of four and tried to get in at 5:00 PM. Little did we know this place was already packed. David got us seated in the bar area, but made sure we were good. Then came the dinner, and we were all going WOW! Great food, great service, and the bartender who waited on us was fabulous.... More

Description
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.
