Always grab a cup of coffee here when in DC. Great flavor without the bitterness. Quick and happy service.

The Blue Eyes was a fruit juice, lemonade tea delight! The coffee beverages were exquisite and I also got the grilled cheese deluxe which had added tomato & bacon: DEE-LISH!!! Needed a small snack, it was a lot more than a snack so great value for the money! I wish this place was in CT! Inside was packed and we... More

I'm already partial to Rwandan coffee, having friends there. Finding Bourbon Coffee in DC was a real treat. I don't bother with the espresso drinks, just a cup of coffee. If they have Muhazi, it's pretty amazing. The food is standard coffee bar fare... yogurt parfaits and lemon poppyseed muffins. But it's a coffee bar, not a muffin bar.

Cozy place for coffee -- and earth and people friendly. Responsibly sourced coffee from Rwanda. Friendly staff.

We were here for two days on holiday and came in for coffee twice as we really like the experience, quality of the coffee and the wonderful service.

I chose this place because it said it was open at 6:30am and I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the hotel breakfast. Turned up at 6:35am and was told (without apology) that the food wasn't ready yet and would be a half hour more, which was too late for me as I had an early business meeting. The... More

So nice to support a coffee shop that sources ingredients responsibly. Cute place inside and nice set of tables outside.

Good pastries (scones, etc), came here instead of Starbucks for that. Don't know why Starbucks in the States insists on it's terrible factory food.

Really good coffee!! Have to try their cold brew ice coffee, way better than Starbucks. Their coffee are nicely brewed, smooth, good service. Our hotel was within walking distance between 2 Starbucks and Bourbon Coffee, except our teenage daughter who is into brand names now, we've all been to this coffee shop during our stay, more than once a day!

Bourbon coffee recently took over this location as I understand it which might explain the identity crisis it has. It's not too far from the Eastern Market Metro. The menu was impressive if a bit overwhelming. They offer whole, skim, soy, coconut, and almond milks too. As far as the atmosphere, it seemed out of place. The furniture and menu... More
