By far the best oysters I have had in a long time. The shucker checks each one for quality prior to serving. A nice selection of wine and beer to complement all dishes. The baked clams are tiny but very good. The oyster chowder has a nice smokeyness to it. Expect noise in the market.

Large oyster platter is fine app with 3 varieties and local clams. Lamb and clams in a zippy sofrito with grilled crusty bread, and an amber ale in bustling market made my day following a very brief trip to MGM casino.

the olde salt and tangier/snow hill oysters and steamed shrimp were excellent. along with the Muscadet, a seat at the oyster bar and we were happy. oysters aren't usually cheap but we like the atmosphere in the Market. will go back.

If you love good service, raw oysters and other sea delights this is s must stop. I have circled this place for all future oyster cravings as they know how to prepare oysters! The service is delightful and upbeat friendly. I also had grilled octopus served over the best quinoa salad ever (and I never liked quinoa). The grill octopus... More

No matter what else we do, or where we eat....This IS ALWAYS our first stop! Raw oysters are delicious & selection offers the best the area has to offer. Menu changes some, but you can't go wrong with the crab cake & smoked salmon dishes. The nice thing about Union Market is that you can purchase other cuisines from vendors... More

The happy hour with half price oysters and drink specials is a great deal. The classic cocktails are well executed - I loved my corpse reviver. Husband liked his Grüner Veltliner and ordered a second glass. There are some local beer specials for the beer drinkers. We ordered a smattering of dishes and everything was excellent, but the standout dish... More

Love the vibe at Union Market, and while sometimes very hipster, it does have great stuff to see and eat and buy. Rappahannock Oyster Company has great stuff. Fresh, tasty and innovative. I tried 1/2 oz of paddlefish caviar. The fish eggs were so good, and I ate it solo. I do love the twist on eggs with a mustard... More

We started our lunch with some luscious raw oysters and draft beer. There were 3 Chesapeake Bay varieties to choose from...all delicious. Then I had oyster chowder with potatoes and bacon which was tasty but thicker than I would have prefered. My husband had a wonderful "Pastrami-cured" salmon rosettes on thin crispy potato latkes, with pickled onions, broccoli kraut, grainy... More

Fun spot in Union Market. Great local oysters and I enjoyed a nice rose too. Other food look great that others ordered too. Great staff shaking super fun cocktails and making it happen with great customer service.
