Old Ebbitt has the most courteous staff! The crab cakes are a delight! Tasty coleslaw and fries, but the best is the vanilla brownie with ice cream. The atmosphere is wonderful!

By chance walk in, Lively and energized place. Great staff, seated right away. Good drinks, very good steak frites. Wife’s salad was awesome. Our waitress was great. Oldest saloon/ bar in DC.

Food and service was great. Really fun and the seafood rivals our fresh Florida seafood. Service was a 10!

Enjoyed my dinner. Joined a friend to catch up so we requested a quieter table to be able to hear each other. We had very nice service. I enjoyed my chicken. It was moist and flavorful. My friend had the scallops and she raved about...More

I was skeptical when I walked into the restaurant. It felt dank and dated. A velvet like material covered the booth seats and it just didn’t feel fresh. However, the food and service made up for it. The place was very busy in the 6pm...More

I definitely recommend having lunch or dinner at this place. You absolutely must stop, even if only for a drink and to look around.

The location is fantastic and well worth strolling in after a morning of exploring museums or the National Mall. It is big but not too noisy, decorated kind of like a saloon, and it's very comfy. The service and food were great - a simple...More

Best crab cakes in DC and enjoyable, rich history in the bar! The crab cakes are all crab and minimal flour just enough to keep it together. Make reservations to avoid long wait.

I am sorry for the delay. The lighting is very subdued. There were no flashing lights and the bar area is dim. The dining area is well lit but not "bright white".
