Definitely a destination spot! The place was packed when we arrived, with a near two hour wait without a reservation. Took a spot at the outer bar seating in the backside of the restaurant. Then we were moved to the actual bar counter when seats opened up. The bartender, Jay Luke, was AWESOME! Great sense of humor, and he took... More

Three of us went to the Old Ebbitt Grill before having dinner at The Hamilton. This is a very popular place. There was a ball or private black tie dinner in the basement of the restaurant when we were there. The Manhattan I had was one of the best I have ever had. Next trip to DC, I will be... More

We came here and had a variety of dishes. If you like oysters I would start there. We loved ours. The crab cakes were incredible, but the steak and meatloaf were awesome as well.

Very busy, very popular, very historic. Located near must-see Washington DC attractions. Advise making a reservation and then scheduling your day around it as the restaurant itself is an attraction and part of a solid DC trip. Prepare to spend money on the experience of eating there. Some stairs to climb to get to the restrooms and also inside which... More

We showed up here after a day of "museuming." We thought we were early for the dinner rush because it was round 5:15. Boy were we wrong! The place was full and there were no reservations available. The Host took one look at our disappointed faces and said, "Hold on." He spoke to a waitress and she took us to... More

I've had a fair number of meals here over the years, a favorite of mine. Clubby atmosphere with great history and well managed. We had several different lunch and breakfast selections which were all good. Portions are ample, service friendly. Read the history and enjoy the ambience !

Walked to this place a couple blocks from my hotel. Main restaurant was full. We sat in the separate bar area, no lines or waiting. Tal the bartender is as warm and friendly as one could ask for. Made us feel home. I had the crab cake benedict, it was phenomenal I'll be back to DC in April. Looking forward... More
