Popped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Amazing noodle bowls full of fresh veggies! Excellent service.

We stumbled upon Rakuya on our way back from the National Portrait Gallery. The place was jumping so we figured the food must be good...We were correct! The dumpling soup was so fragrant and flavorful you just didn't want it to end. The California roll I had was so fresh and my husband's sushi roll was also to die for.... More

Flavorful, wonderful Japanese (mostly) food. Even on the limited happy hour menu, there were items not available at your average restaurant and certainly not in Eastern Connecticut where I live. (I asked my traveling partner, who eats more often in DC and NYC, if I was being biased in my excellent assessment by our limited resources at home and he... More

The correct name is Rakuya. It just opened this week, in the same place as the former Raku. For those of us who loved the former Raku, this was a real disappointment. Gone are the wonderful cocktails, in are lots of saki drinks. Gone are all of the old, wonderful fusion plates, even including wakame salad and the great soups... More

We describe the food as Asian fusion. The look and feel of the p lace has evolved over the past 10 years, but we still love it.

I had the delicious duck entree and my husband had a sushi mix. Our friends had the fresh salmon dinner special. We all enjoyed our meals. Great Service. Great ambience.

Conveniently located on Q Street NW, near Dupont Circle (there are a few similarly named restaurants, so be sure it's the right one). Extensive menu, complete with fancy umbrella drinks, the whole range of sushi and noodle dishes--including a nice pad thai. Everything our foursome ordered was very good.

Raku just opened in the neighborhood -- steps away from my go-to place, Cactus Cantina. My first visit to Raku was very nice. I enjoyed splitting the petite sashimi appetizer -- three or four pieces each was just right. Then I enjoyed a special that featured lobster and other types of seafood while my companion had the huge red curry... More

I have never been disappointed here. The food is always well prepared and tasty. The only suggestion is to decrease the salt content as it can be too heavy handed on some menu items. But over all, I have been very pleased with the dishes ordered. I always want to return.
