The ambiance is beautiful and cozy. The staff go above and beyond anything you would get in most restaurants accept in Europe. The food is amazing to the palate. What is ordered will be a delight. The scallop, shrimp, duck, venison dishes were to melt your taste buds into heaven. What a creative and talented kitchen.

Came here for my birthday with my significant other and was beyond impressed with the food. Each of us did the 4 course entrée and it was the perfect amount for each of us. The duck was one of my favorite courses I ordered. Would highly reccomend this place for a special occasion or for a nice quiet dinner.

What a great place. Old fashioned refinement and great food. Probably the top dining experience for a person now on Earth for 66 years. Highly recommended if you are looking for first class. $110 for a splendid pre-fixe dinner. Go if you are in DC, as you will not regret.

I have traveled all over the world. Marcel's is one of the best restaurants I've ap eaten at. Food was inventive, but not over-the-top ( meaning it was creative, yummy, fun + nutritious) and service was impeccable.

For an extremely high end wine dinner, our host selected Marcel's as really the only venue in the city able to handle all the details perfectly, and they did. Extremely attentive but almost invisible service throughout a many course meal. Careful, complex and dramatically presented dishes are the word here, and the fish and meat dishes were all spectacular. The... More

This is quite a traditional high end French style restaurant - I think jackets for men are compulsory or at least strongly encouraged. Now and again, I enjoy a more formal, subdued dining experience and for this Marcel's is a good choice. I opted for a five course dinner which included a wonderful boudin blanc. Great service and a wholly... More

Business-appropriate - quiet & formal. Excellent service. Delicious food, in particular: scallop appetizer & short ribs. The dessert was ok: creme brûlée was fine (but not special), & chocolate bombe was good.

Had dinner there the night before the Michelin Guide for Washington was released. If I were a Michelin inspector Marcel's would have 3 Stars. It is better than many on the list by a wide margin. My wife and I eat out six nights a week and Marcel's was her choice for her Birthday dinner. Chef Wiedmaier is a master... More
