My wife and I stayed in DC for a week during the inauguration and Marcel's was the best of all the fine dining restaurants we experienced. You choose how many courses (which are many) to order from their French cuisine tasting menu. Each dish was wonderful and specially presented. The foie gras may have been the best we've ever tasted!... More

Wonderful from start to finish. There is a VERY good reason why they recommend the lobster bisque and the boudin blanc - both dishes are close to heaven! (as was the souffle du jour!) Very interesting and flexible menu, which is an excellent way to do a tasting menu without being lumbered with a full 7 courses that you simply... More

We went to Marcel's on Christmas Eve and had the tasting menu. First of all, great that the restaurant is open at that time. There were several options for the tasting menu: we had the 6 course, which was more than enough. Our server was Jonathan, professional, pleasant and personal. The atmosphere is very pleasant, relaxed but exquisite, as expected... More

It's amazing that Marcel is 18 -- not the restaurant, but the chef's son! Bob named it after him when he opened, and Marcel has grown as well as his dad's restaurant, he must he a handsome and exquisite young man. The menu now offers an exceptional choice of a la carte and degustation alternatives. Our party of five had... More

What a treat. Nice tight menu still with enough choices to make choosing tough. I had the warm and mouthwatering asparagus soup. My wife a mussel grattan prepared differently than any she has had before but of course wonderful. I had tan authentic veal schnetizel dish half of which I bought home. So good but such a generous portion. My... More

The service was impeccable and ambiance was amazing. The food, I was happy about but wasn't overly impressed. I have had many fine dining experiences and this was not a stand out on food. Temp was lukewarm and flavor components didn't stand out. My dining mate felt the same. The very good rating to overall service .

The ambiance is beautiful and cozy. The staff go above and beyond anything you would get in most restaurants accept in Europe. The food is amazing to the palate. What is ordered will be a delight. The scallop, shrimp, duck, venison dishes were to melt your taste buds into heaven. What a creative and talented kitchen.

Came here for my birthday with my significant other and was beyond impressed with the food. Each of us did the 4 course entrée and it was the perfect amount for each of us. The duck was one of my favorite courses I ordered. Would highly reccomend this place for a special occasion or for a nice quiet dinner.

What a great place. Old fashioned refinement and great food. Probably the top dining experience for a person now on Earth for 66 years. Highly recommended if you are looking for first class. $110 for a splendid pre-fixe dinner. Go if you are in DC, as you will not regret.
