Wonderful ingredients, superb flavors and presentation and impeccable service. Valentine's Day menu was $165/person, plus beverage and service -- $550 all in. Price never advertised/printed. Waited 20 minutes for drinks to be served in bar.

Came to this restaurant not knowing a thing about it. Expensive, but the food and service were superb. Jonathan Crayne, the senior captain made it all the more so. He suggested some things we'd never have tried and they were wonderful!! Thank you Jonathan.

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Marcel's and it could not have been better. It is one of the single best restaurants I have ever experienced and the service was unbeatable. The wine list is extensive and the staff knowlegdable. The lobster bisque is a must, along with the souffle of the day. We selected the 5 course... More

The place is well located, close to all the main high end hotels at the West end and Georgetown. It has lots of glamour, everybody well dressed. You can choose from a menu of 3 to 6 different plates, as you desire. We had the smaller option, the lobster bisque was spectacular and my scallops were well done and tasty.... More

Marcel's is a great restaurant, but I will not return. The food was amazing and challenged each of us to try something we would not normally eat, and none of us was disappointed. The service by the wait staff was also very good, we really enjoyed the back and forth about certain items on the menu to help us make... More

My wife and I stayed in DC for a week during the inauguration and Marcel's was the best of all the fine dining restaurants we experienced. You choose how many courses (which are many) to order from their French cuisine tasting menu. Each dish was wonderful and specially presented. The foie gras may have been the best we've ever tasted!... More

Wonderful from start to finish. There is a VERY good reason why they recommend the lobster bisque and the boudin blanc - both dishes are close to heaven! (as was the souffle du jour!) Very interesting and flexible menu, which is an excellent way to do a tasting menu without being lumbered with a full 7 courses that you simply... More

We went to Marcel's on Christmas Eve and had the tasting menu. First of all, great that the restaurant is open at that time. There were several options for the tasting menu: we had the 6 course, which was more than enough. Our server was Jonathan, professional, pleasant and personal. The atmosphere is very pleasant, relaxed but exquisite, as expected... More

It's amazing that Marcel is 18 -- not the restaurant, but the chef's son! Bob named it after him when he opened, and Marcel has grown as well as his dad's restaurant, he must he a handsome and exquisite young man. The menu now offers an exceptional choice of a la carte and degustation alternatives. Our party of five had... More
