This place is the first brewpub in Washington DC since prohibition, and the beers they offered were delicious - a great variety of home brewed beers. The only thing I couldn’t see was a sort of tasting menu that I’ve seen done in many bars...More

This place was alright. I stopped in for lunch because it was right across the hotel and I like brew pubs. They had about 8 beers on tap maybe a few more. They have a lot of standard styles and they don’t seem to experiment...More

Went to the brewery and sat at the bar. Loved the beers on tap! Ordered the soup, a burger, and appetizer for the two of us; it was more than enough! Bartender named Danny was really friendly and had great recommendations. The free pretzels to...More

We dropped in after DC car show. After avoiding the vomit on the street out side we made our way to a nice booth. Our server finally came by. She could not help with the beer menu. Did not understand my choice. Finally we place...More

This has the potential to be a decent bar and burger place but it was grubby and service was slow. A shame as the burger was ok and beer selection decent. But if they don’t clean counters after the previous guest and it takes three...More

There was not much restaurant traffic in DC on Sunday, Dec. 24th. We walked into Capitol City Brewing Company and were seated and served immediately. Our server, Quinell, did a good job with our party of 8. We had burgers, Cajun Pasta, Chicken Sandwich, and...More

Description
Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest hand-crafted beer in the country. On the front of our menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Liberty, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol.

Nestled in the heart of Washington's rejuvenated downtown, this location has become a local landmark for celebrating great beer and food with family and friends. We have always taken great pride in our beer so come in and enjoy a cold pint of our very best and match it to one of the many menu selections tailored to the brews we serve.
