The atmosphere is very modern but the restaurant is noisy for conversation. Fun place for drinks. We were really looking forward to trying on our visit to DC as this restaurant is highly rated. We liked it but was fell a little short. The hummus and Naan are wonderful. Portions are small. The brussel sprouts were good but a little... More

I was in a hurry at lunchtime in a busy part of town. What to do? Walk into the most crowded place around and ask for a table; at least a 45 minute wait. I head over to the bar and "rail" and quickly found a good spot; yes, it was tight. Service is excellent (plus I had browsed the... More

During a recent trip to D.C. we made reservations at Zaytinya. Having been raised by a Lebanese step father I was very familiar with the various dishes. There were 5 of us and we split 12 different varieties. I especially loved the squid and lamb ( not ground) topped off with the asparagus salad. We were there May 23 and... More

The food is basically tappas from Greece, Turkey, and the Middle East. Vast menu that is affordable and extremely tasty. I recommend the spiced ground lamb. The ambiance is noisy, happening, and busy. Service is very slow. Bring a couple of hours if you want to dine here. Recommend 4-6 selections per person. Cocktails are very small so stick with... I came with friends on a wet Friday night at 8pm. Without a reservation we only waited about a half hour in the bar. Nice layout of the restaurant. The food (all small plates) were excellent and everything we ordered from salads and tabouleh to lamb chops and kabobs was enjoyable. The puffed pita was a surprise but a great... More

Walked in 4:30 with no reservation and immediately seated. Drank cucumber mint tea. Very good but somewhat sweet. Waitress explaining menu very helpful. Explains small plates, so we ordered salad and two plates each to share. Lamb, fish and eggplant. Very good food. Just remember, small plates st about $10 each. Waitress was SUPER good. Sorry I forgot her name.... More

A big, modern, high-energy place, great for people-watching, and filled with DC's young, affluent crowd - who all seemed to be having a great time one recent Saturday evening. But the truth is, after sampling many mezze dishes, we found that the food wasn't that great. Everything was rather bland. And some of the dishes are REALLY small, so be... More

We came for dinner on one of the chilly Saturday nights in May. We were told that it would be about 45 min to 1 hr wait, however we were seated within 20 min. Our joy was premature, however. After waiting for another 10 min for our waiter to appear and another 10 min for water to appear we got... More

We did not have reservations and was offered outside seating but since it was cold we decided to wait in the bar. We were greeted promptly by Michael and we told him that were waiting for a table but would get some drinks. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and he promptly brought and served it to us. He...
