Had my birthday dinner here. The only thing wrong was that it was a bit too warm in the restaurant. Everything else was great. Apps of oysters on half shell, popcorn shrimp, and Caesar salad were great. Entrees of lobster risotto and pasta were wonderful. Nice pace, friendly wait staff, and fair prices.

This is really a diamond in the rough, it's a small restaurant that's easily overlooked in a neighborhood full of restaurants and hotels. Don't walk by this place. The seafood is super fresh. The menu system is a little odd, it's written up on a board, but everything we had was very fresh and very well prepared. I had a... More

First, the good news. This is a lovely restaurant - excellent seafood - albeit pricey - prepared and plated beautifully, lovely ambiance, great location. I had the tuna tatare to start, scallops as an entree, and a spectacular dark chocolate tart, served hot, for dessert. All superb. Usually I find the portions in US restaurants oversized, but in this case... More

My wife and I ate at Pesce twice. The first time was when a colleague who lives nearby introduced us to the restaurant. The second time we went back for another meal. The menu is very diverse ranging from sauteed sardines to popcorn shrimp to a seafood stew, is reasonably priced, has good wine list, and excellent service. What's not... More

Visited Sunday 7 pm on a steamy July day, using TripAdvisor "near me" as a great solution. Their daily blackboard menu offered up a panzanella Carpaccio Salad at a pricy $12 - a pure tomato, cucumber, Feta and onion mixture that was just right. Pearl Necklace oyster stout @ $6 was an unlisted beer winner. The rare tuna was a... More

I went solo and the restaurant was very accommodating. They have several two tops that work well for singles. Service was prompt and efficient. The Chalkboard with day's special fish as well as the entire Menu is presented at your table with explanations and recommendations. I had the grilled Calamari in Squid Ink for starters. Followed by the Branzino(whole fish)... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC: the chalkboard menu is amazing, and everything is always fresh and perfectly cooked. Try the sardines and the tuna tartare, and, when available, the branzino. Keep space for the dessert: my favorite is the hazelnut pot de crème!

Had dinner with a friend in early May, good variety, good service and worth going to. We were a walk in on a Wednesday evening. Table in the front room. Portions are of good size, properly prepared. This is not my first time and it won't be my last. Always dependable.

There must have been 20 different seafood/fish items on the chalkboard menu! Each main course comes with different vegetables. Seafood stew had excellent broth - the kind you want to sop up with bread. Scallops were perfectly cooked. Guayaquil Chocolate Tart was exceptional! It is a small place, so reservations are a must. We walked in without reservation and luckily got... More

We ate here about two years ago and thought it was one of the best. Ate there yesterday and it was awful!! Starting with the bread, it was stale and the oil to dip was horrible. The tuna was salty, the dorade was over cooked and dry and the wine was actually warm! We were so disappointed as we were... More
