This pub was right next door to our hotel. We ate there three times! The menu is extensive, the food and the service were great. I had something different each time we were there, my husband had the same burger each time because he liked it so much. The prices are also very reasonable.

I work in DC and most of the happy hour spots are a bit stuffy. This place was laid back, and reminded me of entertaining at home with friends. There was a couch and seating area for folks who didn't want to be at the bar. While there were people there in suit and tie, the place was lively, yet... More

Mackey's has several seating areas, so you will rarely have to wait to get a table. Our waiter was efficient and returned whenever we needed him. My Country Chicken Salad had fresh greens and crunchy chicken. The dining room was clean and comfortable, and there's a nice bar area. There's nothing real special here, but in this busy part of... Irish style public house with a well stocked bar. The menu has a multitude of standard pub fare comfort food, but also some spicy dishes and interesting choices.

After experiencing some of DC's better known pubs, this place was a disappointment. It's a rambling but cozy place that could use a facelift. The fish and chips were bland and consisted of what I'd describe as 3 fancy fish sticks on a heaping bed of fries. The slaw, about 3 bites, was served in one of those little plastic... More

The wings were just OK and my Guinness beef dish was nothing like the menu described. It was OK. We got guacamole by accident and that was good. The beer was cold. I will be perfectly content to never eat here again.

Knew better, but got roped into lunch here. Big mistake. Should have just had a beer. Just wanted to regurgitate what I ate. Yuck. Where is a McDonalds when you need one? Just say no.

Stopped in for dinner and beers. Not your typical Irish bar, but I had a good experience. Place was nice, and the staff was friendly. I also got my food and drinks very quickly (not a lot of people here though). The best part was the leather arm chair I found to park in... Bonus!!!

Slow service to start but things improved. Ordered the fish and chips. For an Irish place, it was okay. Small fish portion and fries were soggy. Slow response by the waitress to an empty glass and the place was not busy. Great beer selection and you can't beat the happy hour prices.

I was here a year ago and gave them a bad review because they served me a beer and then immediately turned up the lights and started mopping the floor - way to make a guy feel unwelcome. But I was back in DC last week and needed a brew and some food, and this place was convenient, so I... More
