Tucked away in Georgetown's cobblestone Cady's Alley, Kafe Leopold is a tiny European cafe that even on a rainy Sunday gets busy surprisingly fast. They offer white cafe-style tables with pop of orange inside, as well as patio seating. Upon entrance, I was greeted by...More

Lunch was delicious. Smoked salmon on a flatbread with capers, onions, sauce. Had an egg salad finger sandwich, too. Dessert: apple strudel wit ice cream. All outstanding. great service.

This place offers lunch with a difference. The food is German and we had a great mushroom soup. But mostly this is a place for sweet snacks and coffee.

On an alley off of the main drag (M Street). Coffee was great and the breakfast was a treat. Good service and interesting food.

Kafe Leopold is a great brunch option. It is a true cafe-style restaurant, small with large windows that make it bright inside (or sit on the patio). Though there aren’t a ton of seats, a few tables were available for weekend brunch. The menu items...More

Wonderful! Made me homesick for Austria. I had the Kaiserscmarrn and John had a very good chicken dish. We both had a doggie bag and took Apfel Strudel with us back to the hotel. The coffee was excellent (Kafe mit Schlag).

Stopped here for brunch yesterday. We arrived fairly early and didn’t have to wait too long for a table but it is very popular with locals and got quite busy later. Bright, contemporary and welcoming ambiance on one of Georgetown’s most charming small side streets....More

Cady's Alley is one of those little spaces between historic buildings that lead down to the water. Leopolds has both indoor and outdoor seating, and good waiters. I ordered the mussels, which came with no bread and no little fork to snag the mussel--really odd...More

It's one of my favorite places, with the right pastries and coffee to start a slow, enjoyable weekend. It does get busy (you will probably need to wait at the door at peak times) and the prices are rather steep, but that's expected for quality...More

No - they don't take them, but we went on a Sunday about noon and had only a ten minute wait.

Forget all the cliches about heavy Austrian fare served by waiters in lederhosen. Leopold is about as Euro trendy as it gets, with an all-day coffee and drinks bar, an architecturally hip dining space, and a chic little patio complete with a minifountain. Food is pared-down Mitteleuropean: mushroom tart, crisp schnitzel paired with peppery greens, an endive salad with mustard dressing. In the middle of a design-obsessed alley just off of M Street, the cafe draws an artsy city crowd that's content to sit and watch the scene evolve, just as it's done in Europe. Brunch is a particularly popular setting for such people-watching manna, and the neat-as-a-pin breakfast is available daily until 4 pm. The perfect oasis for breakfast, lunch, dinner or anything in between. They have a very respectable wine list that compliment all the dinner specials. Reservations are taken for dinner only, starting at 5pm.
