I was there for dinner. I recommend a reservation as it was chock-full on a weekday. The fish and fried chicken are extraordinary. But the level of noise is such that you can talk with your partner with great difficulty.

We happened upon this place and had a really excellent meal. By the time the place filled up, it was pretty noisy, but this was really the only drawback. We were seated next to the kitchen, so had the added benefit of a "side show." Unusual items on the menu, and everything was superb. Very friendly and professional wait staff.

We live in the D.C. area, but do not go into The District to eat very often. One reason is that parking can be problematic. The fact that Central offers reasonable valet parking is a major plus. We were dining at 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday. The restaurant was full, but were seated immediately on a banquette. The decor is... More

I dined with a colleague a couple of evenings ago. Our meal, the service and overall experience were outstanding. The fried chicken was among the best I have ever had, and the branzino was excellent, just the right amount of crispness to the skin and fish was excellent. The noise level made conversation a bit difficult at times, very energetic... More

Just a great destination. Great chef who has passed along his legacy to those who carry it out daily. Classic, comfort and playful. Started with the gougeres and "faux" gras with great crusty bread. Gougeres were crisp, warm and perfectly baked. Onion carbonara was next. Classic dish that I have of course always wanted to try. True to its texture,... More

My wife and I were in DC for a family event and my sister chose this restaurant based on her memory of the excellent fried chicken. The bar was crowded with the after-work crowd obviously enjoying themselves. The restaurant is casual. It is easy to pull tables together to seat a group. We sat next to a family whose kids... More

I took my son and a couple of his friends to celebrate his birthday. We started with an order of the gougères and they were a great beginning. Around the table we had the fried chicken, hanger steak, and salmon, and everyone raved about their dish. The celebration cake dessert, complete with sparkler, was a perfect ending to the meal.... Had a great dinner here last night. The food was outstanding. The service was also very good. I would highly recommend reservations because this place gets packed.

While the menu is somewhat limited and a little pricey, it includes a nice variety of standard American fare...the goat cheese Caesar salad and the fish & chips were particularly tasty. The staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu and appropriately attentive without being annoying. The only criticisms are that the restaurant was so loud that it was a... More

We enjoyed our visit. Crab pizza was delicious, could have eaten 2 or 3, a little kick to it, excellent. We got the hamburger with blue cheese and the fried chicken and shared. We really liked the hamburger. It was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. We thought the chicken was just ok, but the homemade mustard dipping sauce was... More
