I ate there a couple of times before they closed, but I was not impressed. Basic sandwiches. I never saw a German meal on their menu. That is the fare at Wiederkehr's Weinkeller Restaurant, which is nearby, and is usually a good place to eat.

We went for lunch. it's made to look like and old bistro, which gives it a lot of character. Exposed beams, low ceilings, stained glass looking windows. Food was very good. I had chicken and my husband hado sausage plate. I would eat here again. Very good food!

Great atmosphere and food. Service was good but could have been better. The food was exceptionally good. Thanks for a good German meal.

If your in a rush this is not the place to eat. We waited several minutes before being acknowledged. They were out several menu items. That said keep reading for rest of the story. Our cook/server/bus-man is a one man show and really was a Speedy Gonzales. My Reuben and Swiss Fries (wedge cut french fries) were fresh and hot.... More

Stopping here is a nice suprise. It's right off the interstate and has good food. Drive on down the road so you see the vineyards. There's several wineries in Altus and the workers at this stop should be able to give you directions on down to their winery in the town of Altus.

My reuben sandwich was okay but not excellent. I would say my wife's chicken salad sandwich was better. There is little variety on the menu and the kitchen facilities are highly limited. The onion soup I had with my reuben was fairly good but definitely not great. There is a companion dining establishment on the other side of I-40 which... More

I took my parents to your wine store & adjacent bistro. We asked a simple question of the person at the bistro about the price of wine & were barely acknowledged. When we were, the gentleman was very rude. The woman who sold us our wine at the wine store was loud, rude & swore several times . I will... More

An old world Swiss style restaurant located in the side of a hill in the Ozark hills on the grounds of a winery. This place has been here for ever and has a reputation of being a good place to eat. My opinion after having eaten there several times is that it is over rated and too expensive. You often... More

For a small bistro in the middle of nowhere on I-40, this packs a punch. It is very good, and their liquour store is packed.
