We had dinner Thursday night at Vincent Hill Station in Acton last night and it was a fantastic experience. We were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. Our server Gisela was very pleasant and brought our drink order right away. The chef has distinct side dishes available each evening. My girlfriend ordered the cream of broccoli soup and I ordered the French Onion as our starters. We both ordered the New York steak but with different toppings. Both steaks were cooked to our wishes and were very flavorful. The accompanying sides included broccoli which no doubt was used to make the soup de jour. The portions of everything were quite large and nothing was shortchanged. Gisela checked in on us at regular intervals to ensure our dining experience was going well. The chef created custom desserts and I chose the Crème Brule and my girlfriend chose the cheesecake. Both dishes were extremely light and very flavorful; the cheesecake melted in your mouth it was so light. My Crème Brule was also very light and you could tell that it was completely home made and came with fresh whipped cream which again was very light and airy.

We were running an hour late for our reservation, since we were driving up from Palm Springs, so we called ahead and the owner kept the kitchen open for when we arrived, which was very kind of her. This popular bar was first opened around 100 years ago as a cafeteria offering refreshment to railroad crews and locals. It's more of bar / music venue these days. We opted for Chicken Parmigiana, which was prepared just like your Mom might make it. Hearty refreshment before we resumed our Journey on to Bakersfield.

Given we had a price fixe menu, I thought it was overall great. Excellent service. The filet mignon was great. Appetizers were good and there was a full bar.

Once in a while it's nice to treat yourself, and those you love, to a wonderful meal with great ambiance, and excellent service. This is the place! Very much worth the effort and expense.

The atmosphere is so much fun on the outside patio. Great band playing country music. The dinner menu offered a great variety from crab cake appetizers to a flavorful swordfish and pretty much everything in between. TOP OF THE GRADE SALOON is worth a cocktail too.

After a beautiful drive to the Poppy Reserve with my family we stumbled upon the Vincent Hill Saloon. We wanted grumb and drink. My mom order the delicious Tri-tip salad. So tender was the the beef. Yum! I got the Portuguese sausage soup so tasty and light such wonderful flavor. My bestie got the Smoked salmon it great with capers. The service was very attentive.

Loved the apps I had for dinner. The 3 of us had a late lunch. Will come back. Right off the 14 freeway.

We've eaten at Vincent Hill Station several times and each time I've ordered a different entree. Frankly, I cannot pick a favorite, because they're all done deliciously well. You absolutely cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I'm counting calories and have managed to find two particularly tasty dishes on the menu: the salmon and the swordfish. I was blown away by both! If I had to choose between the two--tough call, but the nod goes to the swordfish with honey mustard sauce. If you want a meal that's sure to please, Vincent Hill Station is the place to go. The atmosphere is rustic and whether you're dressed up or down, on a romantic date or out with relatives, you'll fit in to one of the multiple dining or bar areas. The wait staff is superb: efficient, attentive, and personable but not intrusive. They also do a fabulous job if you wish to have a corporate or holiday party for large groups. Two adults can eat well here for under $100, including a couple of drinks and tip. Oh, and if you decide to indulge in dessert, try the creme brulee duo: chocolate in one ramekin and vanilla in another. Both are amazing, but the chocolate brulee is out of this world!

I love this place but don't understand why they don't have better roadside signs. I don't give the wow factor to many restaurants and I have traveled extensively but this one deserves it. I have always had a great meal here. I have a special table I like by the fireplace since it was a first date place. I love their cherry glazed duck that comes with enormous cherries. The salad is super fresh served with baguette. My boyfriend had the scallops that he loved and he did share one little bite. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. We had the amaretto brulee for dessert that was great too. The service is always good with a friendly wait staff. We came in way before the dinner hour and they graciously served us anyway. Some nights there is music. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food.

Large portions of good wholesome food. I used to go to their first restaurant in Lancaster by the railroad tracks. I could always depend on great breakfast, hot coffee and cheerful servers.

My husband and I took my parents to dinner here Cinco de Mayo weekend. It was busy with a special event; however the service and food were excellent. The live music was very an added bonus. My dad had the special fish of the day and said it was great. The Lemon Picata Chicken was yummy!

This is a charming restaurant. Rustic in a modern sort of way. It has plenty of room for quite large parties from what I can tell. Music was playing from the outside patio. We were seated near a fireplace. Our server was a delight! Wish I could remember her name. The food was very good! We have no complaints about it at all. My husband had the New York Stead; while I had the Petite Filet. As usual, my filet was more tender; but his had more flavor. The dinner salad was quite nice as well. Actually had vegetables in it, not just lettuce. We will definitely go there again!

If you get a chance do not pass up this place. It's right off the freeway (14) to Palmdale and is worth the time to stop. People are very friendly and the food is great. The bar is fun too.
