Black Bear has generous size breakfasts, lunch and dinners. They have Clam Chowder soup on Friday and it's delicious.

While the food or the ambiance may not be 5 Star, it's always good with great service. The Black Bear Diner is like your most comfortable shoes, they may not be the latest style or in perfect condition, but their dependable. That's what the Black Bear Diner is... You can count on a good meal with large portions and great... More

There are a lot of Black Bear Diners around, and we didn't start eating at them until we moved nearby. I can't vouch for all of them, but the one in Auburn is excellent. Everything we've tried on their menu is delicious. Abundant comfort food, home-cooking style. Great salads, sandwiches, and dinner meals. Highly recommended for good food at good... More

We have eaten here a number of times and have always given it positive reviews. Our server was trying to be personable but did not bring it off on a professional lever. Food was good and reasonably priced as always. The taco salad is good but huge so if you are looking for a lite meal try something else.

Fun décor with wood carving of bears, nice gift shop and really fun environment. The meals are large servings (enough for two) and the staff & servers were fast and friendly. Loved the fried chicken and their hamburger salad. Yum! Great breakfast and it's served all day. Meals are around $10-15. Their also have sandwiches that run $6-9. You will... More

Excellent place to eat, our favourite diner in Auburn. We have never had a bad meal in the times we have been there. Corn beef hash is one of my personal favourites.

We had the New York Steak and Tri-Tip Combo w/ribs cooked just as we asked. They are very friendly, pretty good service. Didn't wait to long...Kinda like a Sizzler type place.

We were traveling with two high school basketball teams, and had 32 hungry people that needed to be fed. We arranged with the Black Bear Diner ahead of time for all of us to eat there for lunch one day (December 2016). When we arrived, they were all ready for us and had put us in our own area in... If you're looking for diner food (quick prep. nothing very fancy, not always cooked exactly the way you ask), this is a satisfactory place to go. I'm not saying our food was bad or that the waiter messed anything up. Quite the opposite. We enjoyed our burgers, service wasn't fast, the waiter was pleasant (everyone was pleasant). However, don't go... More
