I ordered a combination that had beef burrito, cheese enchilada , Spanish rice and refried beans, The refried beans had an awful taste as if they were refried in rancid hamburger lard. The Spanish rice was flooded with pepper and cumin. The burrito was supposed to be beef but it had mostly beans. My wife had guacamole tostada, hard shell... More

I grew up in the San Luis Valley and when I was going to school at Adams State, my friend and I ate here several times for breakfast. That was about 9 years ago and they had a different location and were known as Efram's. The fact that it's been open this long should speak to the quality of the... More

After a mediocre hotel breakfast on Saturday morning, and an afternoon drinking in the mountains, all we wanted was a greasy breakfast smothered in green chili. This place had pretty good reviews, and it was open, so we decided to check it out. We took it as a good sign when we drove past and there were lots of cars... More

Breakfast sticker shock left me forgetting about the food. Service not great for two women. And they wonder why women don't tip better. I'm sure we left a tip but felt slighted. Wooden chairs very hard.

The restaurant hours are 7 to 2pm. We arrived at 1:20 pm. They turned the signs to closed at 1:30. We were starved and I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs. The hash browns were white and boney. The bacon was cold, but the eggs, gravy and biscuits were awesome. Better half had chicken fried steak with the same... More

Anytime we visit Alamosa, Ef's is on the menu of places to visit before we leave. Food is so good! It's like sitting in your grandma's kitchen. Service excellent. Don't let the 'hole in the wall' appearance scare you away you won't be disappointed.

Alamosa has many good restaurants, but will be back to this restaurant tomorrow! Had the chorizo omelet smothered in green chili with beans versus hashbrowns or you can have half and half (hashbrowns /refried beans). It was all served exceptionally hot, tasty and as ordered. See you in the morning!

It's a really old hole-in-the-wall place & off the "main drag" (on the other side of the RR tracks), but the food is TO DIE FOR! Locals flock to this place, & for good reason. Cash only, so be prepared, & only open for breakfast & lunch. Absolutely some of the best "local" food to be had, & they are... More
