We walked from our hotel, The Gant and it was worth the walk in the cold snow conditions. Very friendly staff, tasty food & well priced. Vegetables were perfectly cooked - nice & crunchy. We were very full, but kept eating to try & finish the food as it was so tasty. Highly recommend - if you don't eat in... More

This is a great place to get fresh thai food for lunch after a morning of skiing. The atmosphere is simple but the food is always delicious and fresh. The portions are ample so we always share a dish. Great tucked away place!

There are plenty of good restaurants in Aspen and most are priced beyond normality...Bangkok Happy Bowl may not be fancy but the food was delicious, the service friendly and accommodating and I didn't go into debt. If you like thai it is a must try in Aspen.

We left super satisfied. We read mixed reviews - some bad. 7 of us came in on mancation pad thai tradition. A local on way out as we entered told us she always comes and "it's the f-ing best" and she was right. Quick service despite lots of others coming in after us. Cool little place & the taste of... A good place to eat if you're on a budget. I asked them to cook my food spicy as I'm accustomed to doing so with Thai restaurants in California and the waitress said yes. When my food came out, she said that she will bring me the stuff so I can make it spicy myself. It wouldn't have been a... More

Marques, although we're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit for the most part, we're sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the preparation of your dish. This sounds like a miscommunication -- we have different levels of spiciness, but many times our customers prefer to add spice to their level of taste. We apologize for the misunderstanding, and... We've eaten a lot of Thai food, and even when it's not great, it's usually still pretty enjoyable. Several of the dishes here were exceptions to that rule. The Pad Thai my son ordered was almost tasteless, and my Thom Kha Gai soup was edible, but not enjoyable - very little flavor (and I don't think I've ever had a... More

Ashley, we're very sorry to hear you were disappointed in several of your dishes with us. We take a lot of pride in the food we prepare from fresh ingredients and cooked with care, but we're sorry if that didn't shine through in your Thom Kha Gai soup or the Pad Thai. We would very much appreciate it if you... More

Nice quality ingredients prepared in a surprisingly clueless fashion. The pictures on their menu also don't reflect their food in any capacity.

After spending too much at too many downtown Aspen restaurants, this was a refreshing change. It's cozy, with seating indoors & out. The food is solid and the prices are affordable. There is a small full bar, and they offer daily drink specials (like two Blue Moon beers for $5). Service is great. Location is a bit out of the... More

I was so excited to eat some Thai food. I was so disappointed with my food. I think I just must be spoiled by the wonderful Thai food in my hometown. The Tom Kha was watery and lacked the flavors I crave. The "authentic Thai" stir fry I ordered had no seasoning at all. The Drunken noodles were almost okay.... More

To clarify, Senny, we're a locally owned restaurant, but do have a couple locations in Colorado. We're sorry to hear that our dishes didn't meet your expectations. We do take an alternate route than many other Thai restaurants and place a high focus on fresh ingredients and healthy preparation. With that in mind, I can understand why the dish may... More

I was very disappointed in my experience at Bangkok Happy Bowl. The service was terrible, one person tending to all tables. The food was the worst Thai food we have ever had, even the white rice was hard and gross. After asking three times for a plate to eat our food on, the waitress brought two dirty plates for the... Description
Located next to Clark's Market in Aspen, Bangkok Happy Bowl has quickly become a favorite for locals and visitors alike. The authentic thai bistro offers several original and award winning signature recipes by Chef Paula Rungsawang Coult.

For the past two decades, Paula has earned international acclaim for her Thai recipes in Australia, and came to the U.S. in the early 2000's with partner Kirk Coult. The couple has opened several successful restaurants in California and Colorado, including the Wild Bangkok Bar, which won the Top of the Town award in 2012 for best Thai restaurant in Denver.

Kirk and Paula have been regular visitors to the Aspen community for years and saw a need for an unassuming, come-as-you-are, Thai bistro that could offer a quaint setting for dine in and convenient access for take-out service. Their challenge was finding the ideal location. However, as soon as they heard about the space next to Clark's, Bangkok Happy Bowl found its home.

The menu at Bangkok Happy Bowl changes seasonally, with winter dishes like Pumpkin Curry and Lamb, or the more classic fare of Pad Thai with your choice of beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu is also available. Each of Paula's recipes offers you a choice of mild, spicy or the traditional Thai way (what Paula fondly calls Paula hot).

Bangkok Happy Bowl offers a full bar, dine-in, take-out and delivery in the Aspen core and Snowmass village for larger orders. Parking is free.
