So after taking the Blue Hole flight tour, we decided to try El Fogon as recommended by the owner of the house we rented. It's a small place as most restaurants are. It was lobster season when we went, so lobster was offered everywhere. I...More

Food was great and the owner remembered us from earlier in the day. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was different than the bar and grills. I felt like I was getting the true feel for the local food.

Maybe our favorite restaurant on the island. The stew is incredible, and a Belizean classic so I’d highly recommend it. We also had stuffed snapper (a special), which was delicious. The mango sauce that comes with the fish kabobs was also amazing.

My wife and I both had their special of the night, blackened shrimp, fish, crab and conch. The included appetizer, tortilla soup was pretty good as was the shrimp and fish. After that, it wasn’t very good. The conch was extremely rubbery and barely able...More
