I headed here with a few friends after a diving trip following a recommendation from the dive school. The burritos were HUGE and around BZ$6 each, which is incredibly cheap compared to most food on the island. The staff wrapped up what we could eat and I ate the other half of my burrito for dinner later. Would highly recommend... More

We are a little bit torn about this place. My boyfriend loved his fried chicken (it was very good I tried it too) and it was relatively cheap. But the side of rice and beans wasn't amazing. I had the shrimp coconut curry which was expensive for this kind of place (very local, no bling bling) and also not great.... More

Had the fried snapper for lunch, and my boyfriend had the fried chicken. Both were awesome, and the price was unbeatable. The frozen coffee was huge and not overwhelmingly sweet. Far superior than the tourist trap restaurants on Front St. Next trip to Caye Caulker we'll 100% be back.

I usually rate a dining experience on 3 things: 1. Food (4 stars) 2. Atmosphere (1 star) 3. Service (5 stars) If you are looking to get your belly full and receive friendly service, Meldy's will worked for you. The guy working even helped me navigate over the HUGE mud puddles at the entrance and exit. My sandwich took a... More

It is delicious!! Makes a change from burritos and fried chicken. The staff are friendly and everything reasonably priced. We went on a second occasion and I opted for pancakes, husband for burrito. We waited half an hour for my pancakes to arrive as the chef hadn't turned up so the poor waitress was cooking them! Off her own back,... More

This is just a small shack with 4 picnic tables on a covered porch. You might write it off in favor of a bigger place on Front Street. You will miss some outstanding grilled lobster or "fry chicken" if you do. Grab a table, order a drink or two. Talk to your fellow travelers, and Go Slow at Meldy's

Although Meldy's isn't on the beach, it's definitely worth a visit (and probably repeat visits). The menu includes all the Belizean staples but the portions are huge and the food is good and tasty (without being too salty). Since the place is so small - only 4 tables, all of which are outside under a canopy - ordering and getting... More

We stopped at Meldy's late in the evening. Loved sitting outside and watching everyone walk by as we rested from a long day of activities. I briefly mentioned my love of plantains while looking at the menu. The young boy who brought us our dinner must have overheard me. He placed my plate down with what appeared to be extra... More

If you're the type who enjoy's flavorful food and family style service this is the place to eat. It is located across the only bakery in Caye Caulker and not too far from the only bank on the island, Meldy's is the place for amazing meals at an affordable price. It's a small place, but even if it's a little crowded or if you're in a rush, ask about take out, the extensive menu includes seasonal lobster, fish, burgers and everything in between. Also, be sure to ask about Meldy's bacon wrapped baked chicken, it is nothing short of spectacular. So look out for the little pink and green building on middle street, tell them you came to see Meldy. If she's in, she might be able to fix you a customized menu based dish to suit your taste, just ask, this is your mom's kitchen away from home.
