Granny's Kitchen was delightful and food delicious. We stayed in Americus GA the eve before and even the hotel said Granny's Kitchen was the place for breakfast. We found service and greeting upon arrival to be warm friendly and very efficient. Food was hot and husband got "real" country ham with his eggs. Fresh sausage patties with my over easy,... More

We were treated like outsiders and did not feel welcome. We waited a long time for our food. Everyone got their food before us. Subpar, eggs cold, bacon raw on one side.

I'm in town on business several times throughout the year, and stumbled upon Granny's a few years back. When I'm in town I usually eat lunch here 2-3 times a week. It's just really good, quick Southern fare. Fried chicken, pork chops, chicken & dumplings, stuff like that. The menu changes daily with 3-4 entree options and 6-8 sides &... More

My friend and I ate here while in town for President Carter's birthday celebration. We were a little late getting here and found some of the choices we wanted were already gone, but the food we did order was tasty. I had the roast beef with rice and gravy and the green beans. My friend had the roast beef, dressing... More

Maybe I expected a much better meal. Roast Beef had a lot of fat on it. We wanted two orders of dressing and only got one. Waitress was really stressed. I was not well pleased with the meal. If I ever go back, I hope to get a better meal.

The waitress was rude. The food was nothing special. We should have gone to the Waffle House. After all the reviews we really were disappointed

If you like no-nonsense, down home Southern cooking at a very reasonable price then Granny's Kitchen is for you. The ambiance is simple and plain. There were lots of locals there for breakfast so we knew we hit the right spot for breakfast. The coffee was robust and hot and our waitress kept the cups full. The biscuits were just... More

I had a difficult time deciding between the fried chicken and chicken pie as both looked wonderful as trays passed me. We both ordered the dark meat fried chicken and it was delicious. The light breading was just enough to keep the chicken juicy. We also ordered turnips. I was expecting turnips, not turnip greens, but the greens were yummy.... More

Southern meat and vegetables for those that like food with only a little salt and seasonings. It is a small standard cafeteria with hamburgers, fries and the standard short order menu. The also have southern comfort food where you get a meat and 2 veggies with bread. A home away from home, especially for those seasoned guys and dolls.
