If you're like me and enjoy tasting the cuisine of the locals this is the place to go. The staff dresses in traditional Mayan garb and the food was good.

Very good food. Great service. The menu had a lot of choice. The chicken and beef were very good. Both were prepared with authentic sauces.

Everything about this restaurant from the moment you walk in is amazing- love the indoor outdoor concept with natural materials and the candle wall. The fresh pina juice was so good, as was the seafood soup, rice, tortillas and coffee. Large menu.

I had an assortment of starters, because I wanted to try all the tamales. And really, the title of this review says everything I think it needs to - delicious!

I love going to Kacao as it specializes in the typical guatemalan plates with an international favor. I specially like the lasagna maya that has tortilla instead of pasta or the subanik with little tamales.

Went twice because I enjoyed it so much. The first time I went solo and the staff treated me well. Had the Tapado soup which reminded me so much of the Laksa soup from Thailand, only served with South American Rice. It's a traditional soup from Guatemala. The ambiance sets you in the Guatemala mood.

If you are visiting Guatemala, you should go kakao, the staff are very friendly, and they are usually happy to tell you about the food they make. You can try different region's traditional food. You can't be disappointed

They have a wonderful variety of dishes, great (though slow) service, amazing decor, and lovely ambiance. I highly recommend it.

Got there on a Friday night, great environment, the decoration y totally typical from the region, a combination of Maya and Guatemala, I had subanik , its a soup with meat in the inside, the meat was a little hard to chew, the flavor was good, service is regular since they privileged big groups, having the live marimba is a... Traditional and gourmet Guatemalan food set on a large "palapa"style architecture. Upscale traditional decoration, local music and waiters with typical outfits; great for turists, out of town clients, families and local foodies. A wonderful Guatemalan experience right in the center of the Hotel zone.
