Cute, small, family run and consistently good. The staff work hard, are friendly and always handing over yummy food. Wednesdays suck on Utila (Big Mamma's is closed)

We took a day trip to Utila while searching for a new dive boat. The crossing was smooth as glass and upon arrival we decided to get lunch. We asked a local working on a boat, the Flor De Cana Express, and his first suggestions was a place with burgers, wings and fries. Don't get me wrong, those are just... More

Big Mama's had an impressive list of food options available, and both my meal and my friend's were delicious. It's also well-priced, so those of us on a budget can come and have quite a few meal options without breaking the bank.

Nice food and atmosphere. Its a very traditional place, with nice home cooked food. A good stop for a quick bit.

Best place for a quick bite. Authentic local food that is delicious and cheap. You can eat there or ask them to wrap it to go and walk two minutes and eat your amazing fresh meal overlooking the beautiful scenery. Definitely enhanced my town on Utila :) Also I highly recommend the chili cheese fries, they will spoil you!

In my opinion Big mamas has some of the best value food on the island. It's great quality with great service! The chicken steak is amazing, the T-bone is amazing, and the crispy chicken burger is amazing!! I've no doubt everything else is too. They don't sell alcoholic drinks, but they have no problem with you purchasing them elsewhere and... More

This is the place I would go to for a quick meal and comfort food. The fair is not complcated nor is there any attempt to class it up just to push the prices up. Sitting in the dining area makes one feel like they are at the kitchen table and imagining your own mom will be stepping out of... More

I was impressed by the quick service. No alcohol here, but good food, Utilian style. I had the Tipico and a beef baliada. I was there when it wasn't too busy, but we had walked by a few times when it was packed. It was also closed a couple extra days during our visit to the island because of local... More

Went here most days for lunch while visiting the island on a scuba diving trip and it was always great. Vegetarian options available that were pretty tasty and super cheap. A lunch for two was less then $10 CAD everyday for us (we had one vegetarian and one meat option). The owner is very friendly and they have a cute... More
