Burgie's has the best Cappuccino of the region. The fact that it is inside of a gas station makes it even more amusing. If you are driving through the area, there is absolutely no better place to stop, especially just by the highway, for at least 400 miles in any direction (obviously there are more options if you want to... This is one of my favorite place in Ames. The coffee is delicious, the food is fresh and the atmosphere is perfect. My favorites are iced coffee, cinnamon chip scones and the breakfast burritos. Consistently friendly, fast service. It just doesn't get better than Burgies!

Great coffee and the Country Grind sandwich is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I ever had. We sat on the outdoor patio on beautiful morning. Very enjoyable.

I was here 12Oct2015 and had the jamocha shake which is always good. The sad thing is, now the prices are and they no longer put a domed lid with whipped cream on top. And for the 5buck plus tax price tag, it should probably go back to that. Cute place, friendly staff. Pricey! But open from 6 am to... More

Whenever I'm driving anywhere near Ames (or have friends coming through), I make a point to grab a bag of whole beans or a coffee. While every place can have it's duds or flavors they are roasting just don't work... Burgies, more often than not, have excellently roasted beans and coffees with great and subtle flavors. The atmosphere inside, while... More

Love this cozy little coffee shop hidden away at the gas station. They made a fabulous cappuccino that is well worth the trip!

Best Chocolate Shake ever! Made with hard packed chocolate ice cream and not just soft serve vanilla with cheap chocolate sauce. Real chocolate flavor. We go out of our way to stop for one.

I used to love Burgie's. Lately, their hot coffee drinks have been just okay, and they're more expensive than Starbucks. Their Jamocha Shake has been a long-time favorite (but only if you're prepared to down 1000+ calories in one drink). They're okay, every once in awhile, but there's better coffee shops out there.

As far as I know, everything is great. The coffee & tea there, best I've ever had. Guess I need to get past those great things and try the food.
