Very difficult to find anywhere for lunch in Ramadan, quite understandably, but this little gem of a restaurant was the best find with exceptional food and very very friendly service. I respect the traditions of Ramadan so also respect it when there is still the...opportunity to have some food and refreshments during the day. The Moroccan tea was fantastic!!! I'll be back on my return from Fes.More
We read up on this place and decided to have lunch there after visiting the Hassan Mosque. We sat outside and enjoyed lovely dishes including mint tea. It was one of my happiest experiences in Morocco. While there were a lot of foreigners, there were...a lot of locals too. Seems like a great place to go with family or with a loved one. Our waiter (Mohamed) was lovely. What stood out to me was when we were leaving and we were checking out how they prepare the food (some of it is outside). The manager came to chat with us. He was eager for us to try some more food. He gave us complimentary Harira and we tried another pastry (sorry I can't remember the name but they were frying it outside.) We felt so welcomed and were touched by his kindness. If you're in Casablanca, check this restaurant out.More
Really enjoyed our meal at Squala, our only meal in Casablanca. Nice ambience and service and the tajine was one of the better ones I ate in 3 weeks in Morocco. Learned later that it's mentioned in Tahir Shah's book, The Caliph's House.
First authentic Moroccan restaurant that we tried when we arrive in Casablanca for a start of 7 day tour and we were glad that we came to this place. Eating at this place made us feel that we were in Morocco. Food was great, we...had the Tagine and the the assorted skewer. The waiters were very professional even if the place was packed.More
