We came here twice during our trip as it is such a lovely place to while away an afternoon! We didn't eat here but they do delicious coffee and traditional moroccan tea. The terrace at the top has great views of the city and is a lovely place to relax in the sunshine. The drinks are slightly more expensive than... More

We are here twice just because they have a great space paired with super friendly service and well priced, fresh delicious food. From sandwiches to tagine. The second floor is a cafe lounge and is a great space to hang out. The BEST harira soup I've had in my 3 weeks in Morocco. I'm in love with preserved lemon in... More

Stopped for lunch while wandering through the Souks on a beautiful sunny day. Fresh orange juice, small water, kofta & egg tagine and a coffee for 107Dh (€11) was pretty good, especially for a top tourist location. Staff were very friendly and helpful to any customer service needing advice or guidance and the music was pretty funky. I ate on... More

Located in front of one of some open spaces of the Souks, i had a great breakfast sitting just in front of local markets. Very interesting

We ate in a few restaurants and café's during our time in morocco, But Café Des Epices is by far the best and I will tell you why. The service provided is fantastic the staff were friendly and it's open late. The food is delicious and it's by far the best burger in town. They also have a rooftop seating... More

Café des Epices is a nice spot to sit down for lunch or afternoon tea. It is located in a central spot in the Medina facing a lively but intimate square at the entrance of the carpentry souk. The rooftop terrace is big and has a nice view. You can see the major landmarks of Marrakesh and in the distance... More

Cafe Des Epices has grown since our last visit. At street level, upstairs or on the roof terrace it is a fabulous little haven from which to watch the hussle and bustle of the spice market, whilst sipping a coffee or fruir juice, or enjoying a lunchtime snack. The food is simple but tasty local cuisine at very reasonable prices... More

Lovely cafe to chill out in once you're done haggling over carpets and spices. We came back and had the breakfast and lunch. If you can head up to the roof for great views of the medina. Friendly staff - we ended up talking to the manager about filmmaking.

This rooftop restaurant overlooks the old Slave Square, which is now a triangular-shaped square (!) selling lotions, oils and spices. Nice view both of the merchants and the Atlas Mountains in the distance. Greek salad, Kefta sandwich, water and orange/avocado and date juice, total 165dirhams (just over £13). Food OK but you're there for the scenery and surroundings.

In the heart of the Medina and Souks of Marrakech lies the Rahba Kedima spice square, where old women gather to pound henna for traditional tattoos and sell hand knitted hats, while seasoned vendors run the surrounding spice stores.
Within this setting is the now famed Cafe des Epices, the perfect meeting place and rest stop from the heat and commotion of the souks. The inexpensive menu is focused on the simple and fresh, offering teas and coffee, freshly made juices, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The design is correspondingly simple: deliberately paired down and basic in order to offer a peaceful resting place after the visual overload of the Souks.
Built over 3 floors, the top terrace offers great views over the square and surrounding Medina, the non-smoking 2nd floor salon is a great place to lounge and the ground floor and outdoor tables are fantastic places from which to watch the colourful comings and goings of the spice square market.

Open daily from 9am to 10pm
