The Casa degli Italiani hosts art exhibits, film showings, EU or Italian Embassy-sponsored events but is no longer operating as a restaurant. It is still an interesting place to visit but do not expect to have a meal here.

Visited for the art show from May 29 - June 3, 2015 (and bought a painting). I did not realize that there was also a restaurant here - - it may not have been operating then. However, the building is worth a visit and when...More

Just like an old movie set! Very nice decor, perfect for lunch or brunch. Not the best food in town and a bit pricy but definitely worth it. Loved the nostalgia feel of the venue

The food is good, a bit expensive. A must if you wish to flavour the old fashioned colonial Italian atmosphere.

Here, I have experienced the worst food in Eritrea lessened and the worst service. The waitresses were very reticent and was having little desire on their work. In addition, the toilets were an insult, even for Eritrean standards.

A lovely place for an outdoor lunch or evening sundowner. Daily specials mostly of Italian origin. Would recommend the excellent Friday lunch time Paella. Popular with NGO and Diplomatic staff

Albergo Italia is a beautiful building, with a nice bar and a stylish restaurant. One expects to get the best food in Asmara, but... Everything is OK but it is not particularly delicious. The chef seems to be short of spices, taste. Prices are extremely...More

Every time I vist the staff are more surly, the food more greasy, the bread more stale. The prices reamin the same. Given the prices, connections and status, this should be the best in Asmara. Great location, the Italian Embassy need to have a very...More
