Been to the establishment a few times during my 7 weeks in Taipei. Haven't tried the food there but drinks were reasonably priced. The staffs quite attentive especially Shirley. No live music but the ladies's night on Thursday was something to look for with free cocktail for ladies of course and for the rest of the species, NT150 for cover... More

A pub style bar. We have visited twice, so far, whilst staying in Taipei. The staff are friendly and efficient, the first time chasing after me with change (which I had left as a tip) and the second time when I left my rucksack behind!

Pretty good service, good pizza and other dishes. Responsive to requests. Sports bar, but better for Aussie's and EU - soccer and rugby are priority.

Stopped by on the recommendation while in town for a conference. It was ladies night and the place was a good mix of locals and foreigners. All reasonably friendly. Their microbrews were solid and the club sandwich was one of the best I ever had. I'll stop by again.

There are not too many western bars in this are (unless you include Hooters, Paulane r house and hotel bars) and this bar is quite cozy and with a few outdoor seats for those who like to enjoy watching a bit of the street life of Taipei. Food is not cheap but of good quality, drinks are around average for... More

Decent food, decent beer choice, although some more cider would be nice. Pleasant staff and all the football. Reasonable prices. You can't go wrong! Don't try going for lunch though, they don't open until 5pm. Not unusual in Taipei we found out.

Hi KnightGuest, Cheers for the positive review. I don't know if this will appear on TripAdvisor before you leave Taipei to return to Greater Manchester but we do have another branch in the Xinyi District and they are indeed open for lunch. The steak and ale pie is as good as you'd get back in the UK (I'm also from... More

Hi Y, I am sorry you found your imperial pint of Guinness expensive at NT$319 ( the actual price you will have paid). Beer in Taiwan is expensive. It is expensive for bars to buy and the price merely reflects the price we pay for Guinness from the supplier. Guinness is an expensive product everywhere and we complain as much... More

Big time upgrade to the beer plumbing and selection to ensure the beer is very well chilled and is of the highest quality in Taipei. This is my first visit in a few months and I'm impressed with the improvements.

I have been to Brass Monkey several times, it is quite popular among the foreigners in Taipei and it's a nice place with some music and dancing in the night. Good for drinks and good to spend time with friends.

Subsequent to my last visit which 'underwhelmed' me, I found myself again in 'The Monkey' to meet with friends ------- what a difference!!! It appears there has been a change of management and out have gone the surly waitresses to be replaced by much more helpful and welcoming ones. The menu too has undergone a revamp and now presents a... More

Thanks weeman55. Your previous review bringing back memories of being snuck underage into a cinema in Carlisle to watch Star Wars did weigh heavily. I am glad you took the time to re-review us. We have two Taiwan craft beers on draught and are waiting for a couple more to be released to us. In total we now have 8... More
