Fed up and tired waiting our turn at Jai Fai, we started walking towards krua Apsorn. It was a 15 min walk. Simple place with a pretty big sitting arrangement. We had the crab omlette and Thai stir fry fish. Both were totally on point. Very very good and oozing flavour. We were almost in two minds to repeat the crab omelette! You can give the hyped places a miss and come here for the crab omelette. You won’t regret it!!

Firstly, my perception of what this restaurant is and what is isn't. It is deserving of its' Michelin award (for its' food). It isn't fine dining, it is a casual dining experience. It's a place where you drink soft drinks or beer, not Grand Cru classe wine. The staff are pleasant, helpful (where they can be; their English isn't great) and polite but this isn't starched-collar service. This isn't a romantic setting, the interior is cafeteria like. It isn't a place for a long slow-paced dinner, it closes at 19:30. It is the place for a casual (long) lunch with family and/or friends. Now the food: Overall excellent. We had the following: (1) crab omelette, which was light, tasty and plentiful. The taste of crab was delicate but present (2) fried barramundi with chilli herbs. This was superb. The fish was fresh and had an excellent texture. I'm not sure exactly what herbs were in the sauce, but they married together perfectly. We had it spicy, and it was but not overwhelming so as to spoil the other favours. (However, many of our friends find our dishes too spicy, so maybe ask them to tone down the heat if you don't like things too spicy) (3) stir fried chayote. Think that this is wrongly labelled? The vegetable is more like a smaller version of Pak boong (morning glory). Ours was prepared with garlic. It was well-cooked and crisp to the bite. Pleasant enough without being anything to rave about. (4) Mushroom with Thai herbs. Again, I'm unsure exactly what herbs were used. At first, it wasn't to my liking but the favours tended to linger on my pallet and, after a while, I found that I was eating more of this dish than any of the others. Bit long-winded but in summary; excellent quality produce, well prepared, well cooked, well presented and well served. Sizeable portions (we over-ordered and took a doggy bag out) and by Western standards a bargain - 660 baht including 2 herbal drinks. Where can two people eat at a Michelin awarded restaurant in Europe for less than €10/head? Highly recommended.

Our Thai friend who lives in Bangkok took us to this restaurant. She raved about it, said it is one of her favorites. I see by other TripAdvisor reviews that she has lots of company. Unfortunately, I am not in that group. While the crab omelet was good, our Bangkok-living Thai friend ordered green curry with fish balls. The curry came--with no fish balls. Were they trying to put one over on a local? So strange. Then the bill came. We discovered that the green curry was 500 baht-- 5 times the cost of each of the other dishes we ordered. I am very confused about these wonderful reviews, and will not be back. Perhaps your experience will be better.

I understand why Michelin rewarded this restaurant wit a Bib Gourmand. This stands for a very good meal at a very reasonable price. I cannot say anything more sensible than that. It was really fantastic. No two ifs ands or buts.

Delicious curry deshelled crab (400 baht), the flower vegetable too is another must order! No frills, authentic Thai food. Higher price than normal but they are very generous with the proteins. Staffs can be friendly, most don’t speak good English. Busy restaurant, come off peak hour to have a less noisy peaceful meal.

One of the best tasting Thai restaurants in the land of great food. I was extremely happy with almost all the dishes especially for the prices they sold them for. My particular favorite was the crab curry. Would definitely go back here again.

Located next to the National library, from time to time, this restaurant catered for King Rama IX. It is a favorite place for civil servants and officers.

My mother and I visited Krua Apsorn for lunch after discovering the restaurant through food blogs. We'd made a reservation through our hotel since it's apparently hard to get a table just by showing up. We ordered the following four dishes: 1. Stir fry crab with yellow pepper chili 2. Fish cakes 3. Green curry with prawns 4. Fluffy crab omelette The stir fry crab and green curry were absolutely delicious. What was lovely about the green curry is that it came with massive prawns. The fish cake was also tasty. I wish the crab omelette contained more crab that it did. The portions of the omelette with crab in it were tasty, but they were sparing. Overall, it was an excellent meal and Thai food enthusiasts can't go wrong by eating here. In case you plan to eat here, you'll be able to recognize the restaurant with its Michelin sign on the door.

The food here is really good. The price is reasonable. However, you have to wait for a while because it is very popular here and always has lots of people. You can only make a reservation on weekdays not on the weekend.

Get the crab dishes, they’re amazing, so generous with the crab I couldn’t believe it. Must have dishes: - fluffy omelette, and crab with curry. Don’t forget to hunt out the greens - the stir fried cowslip flowers, the stir fried chayote - 2 dishes I’ve never had and now long for every time I think of them! Easily a ome of the very best Thai food I’ve ever eaten.

We were in Bangkok for 5 hours before our flight back to the UK. We remember seeing this restaurant on the hairy bikers so got a grab taxi to it. It was full of Thai people (always a good sign) and we weren’t disappointed. My husband had Ben asking in nearly every restaurant for 3 weeks for the crab omelette, he said it was amazing. I had the pad Thai and fish green curry, both very nice
