Food was over priced...the sweet and spicy spare ribs stay well clear they are like chewing fat! Curry ok but certainly not worth the price tag!

Delicious grilled sea bass and caju chicken. The place is very big, and it has a number of distinct areas, ranging from tables on sand to swing benches. Everything is very clean and in contrast to the noise and crowds on the road nearby. Our waiter was extremely helpful as he gave us advice about the city.

Don't bother, it took us 20 minutes to get one drink then the other came 10 mins later. The staff look like they were bored out their brains, our rice came first before our starter then we didn't get the curry till 45minutes later. Food was bland definitely definitely not worth the money. Do not understand how this has got... More

Overpriced and disappointing. The food was well prepared but barely enough to feed a child, nevertheless a grown man. And I won't pay NYC prices for Thai beer. I just won't.

My friends and I are very adaptable and never make a fuss about food, but we were really disappointed in the quality of the food we were served at Tom Yum Kung. My friend and I both ordered green curry, but ours came out at different times (15 mins apart) and as different batches altogether. We weren't made aware rice... More

Loved the atmosphere, it was authentic and felt like you were by the sea. Food is the us point here especially their special and common seller; the King Shrimp Soup. As for prices. They are touristy and not local shop pricing but at the same time affordable. Definate recommend. Free Wi-fi too!

I only had the spring rolls, but they were the worst I have had in Thailand and probably the most expensive. The drinks are also very expensive.

They served the best pad thai or stir-fried noodles I have eaten when I stayed in Bangkok. The restaurant is just a hole-in-the-wall but they serve delicious dishes, such as teriyaki chicken and thai soup. Music was also appropriate for the Caribbean ambiance of the place.

New Year's Eve stuck out on the street in front of the band speakers. Good food and lots of it but not relaxing and could not talk with my friends. We asked to be moved and they wouldn't. I'm sure on another nite my review would be better

The trip advisor excellence awards promises much but to be honest not good. Took 25 mins to get order taken took a further 30 mins to get the food which rolled out one by one not all together. Tom young spicy prawn soup was ok but nothing better than anywhere else.... the chicken satay average ... pad Thai good but... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
