Today on our way to the pier we stopped here for a quick drink. They have illy coffee, and even though i normally like i did not enjoy my macchiato so much, as it was too bitter. We also had a coconut shake which was quite good, even though nothing I particularly loved. Prices were high, considering VAT and service... More

After reading positive reviews of the Gallery Café, we decided to give it a try for dinner. It is very convenient to the Sheraton Royal Orchid Hotel and I suspect that's why it's received more reviews than some other, probably comparable restaurants. It's a very attractive restaurant with a good number of choices on the menu. The food was very... More

We have been thinking about the food here for 4 years (our last visit to BKK). I had read that the restaurant had moved across the street and we were worried that the menu had changed or it would be too different/not as good. Fortunately we had worried for nothing as our favorite items were still on the menu and... More

I'm surprised at the mixed reviews here, but our experience was very good. Unlike some of the reviews here, our food was hot (both times) and fresh. Service was good and attentive, but we did see a large group on the second visit that didn't appear to be getting quick service. We had the Green Curry Chicken, Penang Beef, Pad... More

The chicken Pad Thai was definitely not good, and I agree with another review, I think it had been reheated, I should have complained... On the other hand, the Phanaeng Chicken curry was good! A bit spicy but very good. The staff is very friendly and the décor is nice. A bit expensive but c'est la vie!

I saw the fairly decent reviews and heard about this restaurant and I was optimistic but that optimism was unfounded as the food was some of the worst I've ever had for a Thai restaurant. I happen to love Thom Ka soup and ordered it with tofu. It was all but ineditable because of the huge amount of lemongrass sticks... More

Very disappointed . My pad Thai was made to order you could clearly taste that it was already cooked but heated up when ordered. There were flies in the small chili sauce on the table. Not worth a second visit for me.

We had been walking for so long that the Gallery Cafe was heaven when we stumbled upon it. Sure it is more expensive than other restaurants in Bangkok but it is still affordable compared to western prices (8€ or so the lunch per person). But the food is good, the decoration charming and the staff nice. What more does one... More

For what is offered, ended up being quite expensive. Food was good though. Slow service even though only 2 tables were occupied (but this may be because it is cooked fresh?) Rude waiter!

This restaurant is only a few mins walk away from the Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok. We went there twice during our four day trip to Bangkok. We loved the food. It was better than any other Thai place and the prices were reasonable. The most memorable dishes I can recommend were the Papaya salad(had a good chilli kick), the Penang... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
