We found this bar five years ago when we first stayed at the Shangri la. Jack , June and the staff work so hard in the heat. When we first went the floor went up and down with the wash from the boats going to and from. They had to stabilise it due to health and safety , what a... More

We found this small but amazing bar/restaurant during our latest trip to Bangkok (how on earth had we missed it on previous ones?!) Sitting on the wobbly chairs at the wooden bar at the water’s edge was perfect for checking out the passing boat trade. We ordered two glasses of red wine only to find out it was really only... Very simple waterfront bar playing 70s & 80s music - great spot to grab a bite to eat and beer whilst watching the busy river life in front

Jack`s Bar is a ramshackle wooden hut right at the rivers edge next to the Shangrila Hotel. With its wobbely mismatched chairs and rickety tables there is nothing fancy. But if you want a peaceful drink, while watching the sun go down, you are at the right place. The contrast to the fancy Hotels at the riverside could not be... More

What's fun about this place is it's actually a local type riverfront bar/restaurant, like a typical Bangkok street restaurant on the water. So, the view is great, and you're sitting at a mishmash of tables, some made from plywood, others cobbled together from signs, and you're sitting on the ubiquitous plastic chairs and stools. There' nothing upscale about this place,... More

Very small restaurant right on the river. They only have a few tables and we had intended to eat dinner but at all the other tables most people were smoking so we left after having an expensive beer. We did look at the menu and the prices seemed rather expensive, but the food going to the tables looked good. Might... More

great little spot that I visit regularly. It has got a lot busier over the years with more tourists. The locals still come through and small amount of tables limits the tourist numbers which is nice.

1st night in Bangkok, we stumbled across this place after aiming for the famous 'sky bar' at Lebua. Despite being very smart, we got turned away from Lebua for not having the correct footwear! Hot, and pretty desperate for a cold beer we simply headed towards the river. We passed the Shangri La and spotted cold beers and a view!... More

I have been here with my friends last night , Such an amazing restaurant along Chao Phraya river view , charming chief Jack. He is funny and kind. Foods is expensive but the drink is OK. 1 big bottle of LEO beer is 80 bath.

Nice food, cold beers, rustic surrounds and a great place to enjoy the view of the river with friends.

Description
This little place doesn't actually have an English name, we nicknamed it 'Jack's Bar'. It's in a tourist area (next door to Shangri-La Hotel) on the river.
