This place has such a strong reputation but we have encountered mediocre to poor service and over priced Thai cuisine.

Set in a neighbourhood near Ramkhamheng University, this unassuming restaurant is great for a lazy lunch or fairy-light lit dinner. This place is in an old royal teak style setting which has been pretty tastefully done. It overlooks a big lake and has extensive indoor and outdoor seating. I lived for a year near this place and frequently visited it on the weekends. It serves my favourite 2 starters in Bangkok, chicken satay and tortillas with topping ( hard to describe but great) once these have been done there is a wide choice of fish dishes and a few meat. My wife and I taught in Bangkok for 2 years and we lived in the same neighborhood as Reun Ros. The food was probably the best Thai food we ate. Ruenros is owned by Khun Nattawat ("Toom") who is the first Thai to graduate from a French college of restaurant and hotel management. The manager is Khun Teerasak ("Chang"), a student of Khun Nattawat at I-TIM (the international restaurant college on Ramkhamhaeng 52).
