I've heard lots of positive comments about this cafe, so decided it was worth a visit for lunch. My companions had all been before and knew the menu well, so I quickly decided on the samosas. Such a good choice; 3 ample sized samosas, packed with vegetables, and a coriander dipping sauce on the side, which was fantastic (bit of... More

We like to make sure our tourist mona is going to good causes... this cafe, run by a gringo, is an NGO that donates funds to Burmese refugees, who are not treated well by the Thai government or people, these are people fleeing terror. The food was excellent, very tasty and beautifully presented. The ambience is perfect for the hipster... More

My friend and I had been traveling through Thailand and were looking for some healthy unprocessed food. We came across Free Bird Cafe on trip advisor and decided to go! We both got delicious watermelon smoothies and each got a different kind of smoothie bowl. Both of us loved them! Only complaint was that service was a little slow but... More

This place is amazing. The food is locally sourced, organic, and mainly vegan. They have a great cause which helps refugees from Burma. There is a clothing shop to purchase second hand clothes that gives 100% of profits. This place is highly recommended must see in Chiang Mai.

I really wanted to like this place because I like the concept and cause. But it was truly disappointing. For starters it's extremely overpriced for the quality of food you get. The coffee is awful . Although they say it's arabica beans it's really not drinkable. The chocolate acai bowl has no chocolate literally you wouldn't know it's a chocolate... More

Food here is amazing. Lots of healthy options as well as smoothies, juices and desserts. Especially love the smoothie bowls and breakfast options. Cute second-hand shop behind with lots of treasures and all proceeds go to support their charity, Thai Freedom House. A must visit while in Chiang Mai!

We found this cafe wandering through town and were really surprised! The food and drinks are so amazing and so tasty! The atmosphere is great and you even do something charitable with your visit! Would really recommend going here!

I called into Free Bird Cafe for lunch today ... the staff request that customers leave their shoes at the door ... I got the vegan pad Thai with a soy latte (฿160) ... I enjoyed the pad Thai with both the quality and quanity of the food being very good ... the cafe was clean and cool and the... More

This place is amazing! A vegan heaven with coffees made with homemade (daily) almond milk, unique teas and refreshing fresh fruit sodas, also some healthy detoxing drinks like the Golden Milk. It is a paradise for raw foodists because of the huge salad menu, not your 'traditional' salads but a great variety from the Shan ethnic people in Burma, there... More

The food here is incredible! One of the best meals I had during my trip to Thailand. The flavours are amazing, and the staff were lovely! They also run a little charity shop at the back of the cafe. Left with a T-shirt :)

Description
Our beautiful location is on the North side of the moat that surrounds the quaint "old city" of Chiang Mai. It is a perfect place to sit, enjoy the breeze, sunlight and people watching on the main road. The interior is attractive, colorful and bright with our student's art work and long share tables to encourage customers to sit together and make new friends or private tables and a small sofa in the kids corner where there are plenty of books, toys and art supplies to keep the kids happy while parents enjoy their healthy vegetarian or vegan western or local style breakfast, lunch, smoothies or coffee and dessert. We serve many Burmese and ethnic foods that you can't get anywhere else so it is fun to try something new! We also have a fun and funky little Pre-Loved Charity Shop in the cafe where you can not only donate your old clothing, household items, books and more but purchase goods and support our charity at the same time. We have loads of English language novels, travel guides, hats, shoes, scarves, jewelry, men's and women's clothing and more. We also sell organic spirulina, triphala and natural skin care products from local vendors. Please come and check us out today! You can park cars, motorbikes and bicycles along the side of the building.
