We were recommended this restaurant by our driver. They specialise in Hanoi's signature dish as per the name of the restaurant. Great service with friendly waiters who make it dead easy to order and out it all together to eat. Definitely recommend.

Nice entrance with bamboo rows and a venerable building looks like it was from the colonial era. However inside, since this place is rather famous, was pretty crowded and noisy, even though it was a weekday lunch. The food was good but I don't think...it was noticeably better than other well known "cha ca" restaurants. But the service left much to be desired. The waiters were rushed, rather terse talking and sometimes didn't bother to answer questions about the food at all. After they served the fish, they just left and didn't return unless you called out to them (compared to another "cha ca" restaurant also reviewed by Michelin, where walking by waiters would check on your pan, add oil and stir to make sure the fish doesn't burn)More
The food was okay but the service was terrible. It’s a set menu. My partner and I paid for the food and while my partner used the bathroom, they moved me to accommodate a party of 7 while there was room elsewhere in the restaurant???...(It was not that busy while we were there) Apparently, waiting a couple of minutes for a table is not within the realm of possibility. Would not go back due to the service.More
AMAZING!!!!!! only one thing on the menu and I can see why. the fish is exquisitely flavored with turmeric and dill and cooked to perfection. add the greens and rice noodles and it was a favorite meal. it's low cost as well.
Wonderful option for dinner! There is only one option of meals, and it was grilled fish, cooked at your table, served with greens and noodles. Delish! Although it's a Michelin restaurant, the meal was only 195,000 dong, equivalent to about $8 US dollars.
One of the best meal we had in hanoi. It was amazing, very tasty. My boyfriend, he dont like fish much but he loved cha ca now. We had fish, vegetables, rice noodles, nuts and sauce. Excellent meal.
We did not have a nice experience. Food was just Ok. Very bland and subtle flavor. Portions were tiny. Service was just awful: we had an early dinner around 6:pm. Most of the staff spent their time heads down in their cell phones. Saw our...server picking his nose and the proceeded to come over and stir our dish while coughing all over it. Gross. Staff were not smiling or friendly. Not a hello or goodbye or thank you. The place is overhyped and overpriced. Poor value and very poor service. Would not recommend to family or friends.More
First time we tried Cha Ca and we loved it. This fish dish is delicious. Would have gone to Cha Ca Thang Long again if we'd had more time. This place specialises in Cha Ca and it shows. If you don't like fish, this dish...might help you change your mind.More
The fish was really fresh and tasty. Service provided by all the staff from waitress to receptionist is good.
One of the best restaurants I visited in my trip in Vietnam. It is specialised in Cha Ca La Vong, a dish based on fried fish, spring onions, dill and other herbs, served with some side dishes. The service was quite good and quick, with...the waiters being quite fluent in English and willing to explain you the history of the dish and how you should eat it. I also liked its location, hosted in an old but well deserved colonial building hidden in a small alley with its own garden. Prices above average for Hanoi standards but still quite reasonable.More
My favourite dish in Vietnam and this new restaurant since my last visit to the original, is gorgeous and well run. A must for every visit to Hà Nội.
This restaurant is well worth a visit. My daughter had read reviews there were excellent and they were all accurate. The food was amazing, you really must go and try for yourself, it was a great experience. We’re looking forward to trying to replicate the...food at home. There was no menu, it’s one dish. Fantastic!More
Super delicious! They have English version of menu but not as many choices - only set meal for two is shown on the English menu. Portion is too small for two - not many pieces of fish. But it’s super tasty!!!
Restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam, famous for its signature dish, grilled catfish fish, marinated in turmeric and other flavorful ingredients, served with vermicelli noodles, herbs, and peanuts. Unique dining experience and delicious flavors make must-visit for those exploring Hanoi's culinary adventure. Cons: Restaurant only serves one...signature dish and slightly pricey. Choices of drinks are limited. Staff speaks little English.More
Delicious & a fun experience! Our kids (teens) loved it & we enjoyed sitting outside & having the waiter prepare our meal at the table.
